Follow your heart. Decision-making is not rocket science. If you follow your heart, your path may be rocky, will lead you to unpleasant situations, situations that would need you to battle out a lot, but you will be satisfied. You will be satisfied because you have listened to what gave you happiness, the happiness may not be visible on the surface, but the happiness would be there at the end of the journey. When you listen to your heart, no matter how worse situations become, you shine, you become a better person, you find the best in you.
I am absolutely not a logical person. I am a sucker for so called “irrational” things. I follow what my heart wants. That has led to unwanted situations for me and for my family. I have been named “characterless”, “loser”, you know all those names that does not fit in the societal structure. But it’s my life and no matter how cliche it sounds, it’s my life and my so it’s my way. There had been months when I did not know how would I survive the next day, because I had no money. There had been situations, where I was entrapped and had to elope, leaving my credentials and all my belongings behind. There had been times when I didn’t know if I would live a life, because I was in house arrest. And none of this is a story to gain sympathy. I had my share of struggles and even 5 years ago we didn’t celebrate mental anxiety, stretch marks, cleavage, body fat or rather anything. Today we are celebrating it, but let’s get it straight on face, even 5 years ago, I wasn’t even heard, I was judged. But all I did know, I have to listen to my heart and keep moving. This is not about my pain, not my struggles. It’s about listening to my heart, listening to your heart and following your instincts.
No matter at what incline I was in, my heart always asked me to walk ahead, and I did. Following my heart, I have a life I always dreamt of. It has led me to many uncanny, bizarre situations, but it has helped me to rise from my ashes. It has made me confident, it has helped me to overcome my insecurities.
Following your logic is easy, but following your heart makes life worth living with raw experiences and emotions, finding beauty in the unknown.
