Wise words by me good friend
@emmanuella.briggs best describes me week and me fav piece of art "Strokes make a letter, letters make a word, words make a sentence and sentences make an impact...its all a connection, we are all a connection one way or the other, we are pillars to one another. Greater success is achieved when we work together and encouragement and better output is cultivated when we compliment already made efforts no matter how little they are...Appreciate everyone you come across, be a pillar and get lifted too"
Here it comes the first selfie I have ever posted on IG.
Not an ordinary selfie - I believe - but a photo able to tell a story, a story about last night in Tokyo.
It was 1 am approx and I didn't feel like going home, this city is so addictive and even at night you have the feeling that something special is about to happen.
Since I arrived here I have been sleeping 2-3 hours per night maximum, that's a fact , and the exciting thing is that I don't even feel tired.
Decided to take a solo walk with my faithful Pentax LX, I felt the urge of taking some analog shots of people in the night.
Started to explore the Shinjuku station, its premises, and the streets around the area.
You never feel uncomfortable, you feel extremely safe as you won't probably feel anywhere else in the world near a central station alone in the middle of the night.
Few people walking compared to daytime, many homeless people around, Tokyo at this time seems just a bit less chaotic, yet preserving its tranquil, calm and tidy atmosphere you breath during the day while everybody is on the move.
Took some interesting shots, felt quite satisfied.
On the way back home, I entered a subway and I met him. Sho Lion was standing by the side of the tunnel showing off his works on sale.
Sho Lion is a street painter, music fanatic - and for sure - a pure hearted person.
I stopped by to see its painting, gave him a smile, felt empathy as soon as we started to exchange some words in English.
He could not speak that fluently - "I am studying English" - that's what he told me right away, but with this open and positive people is very easy to communicate, even without a wide dictionary. A smile, a handshake, sometimes is much warmer than a thousand words.
Took some photos about him and his world. He was excited about the idea I was using an analog camera.
Can't wait to show you the photos @sholiongaram ! #tokyo#streetphotography#street#streetphoto#streetart#streetartist#street_perfection#selfie#story#storytellingphotography#reportage#photorealism#photographerlife#photoreportage#yallersstreet#artists#painter#streetphotographer#streetphoto_bw#blackandwhite#bnw#japan#encounters
#requestdesign 🎨When I painted each of them, I used different styles of background out of my comfort zone because I have my own different views for each artist.🕶 Aster 💍has golden voice and flows. Her voice is capable of feet any kind of shapes as Music note that is why I used different colors and geometry shapes to her portrait as a background.🎼 teddyafro the Preacher of love and truth he has brave and strong personality. I used lion background to express his empire that he build up by his lyrics. The King! ፍቅር ያሸንፋል! gigI she got sweet and beautiful voice like Rose🌹. The idea and the tune of her songs flow like water through out our ears, minds, heart, souls...that is why I used Rose and water. Tilahun the legend, the beginning and the corner stone of Ethiopian modern music. 📻I used statue of his own on the disc to express his master voice.📼 teddy tadese is naturally gifted and talented. He had genuine and artistic lyrics but he lived outside the box that's why I painted his portrait out of my style. 🎤once he talks the mic he can sing anything. he showed his uniq talent and powerful voice when he sang ዘለሰኛ. He is my man!🎤#art#popart#artist#drawingart#painting#sketchbook#ethiopia#habesha#music#singers#fauvism#ethiopian#photorealism#portrait#godisgood
