WORKING the #abdominals in an essentric position — I feel people are often confused on how to actually build muscle. They think it comes from the contraction of the muscle, but it actually opposite. Muscle gain comes from the release or lengthening of the muscle. Here I am on a light load because my challenge is coming from maintaining length in my torso as opposed to “flexing” to move the carriage. Just holding the carriage is challenging enough, but I have added a slight movement as well as rotation work. Please keep in mind I have scoliosis. You can see my lat (back muscles) pop out because of my curve. I am in a neutral spine although it could look slightly extended due to my muscular development. When in rotation, keep the hips squared by drawing the opposite hip back. Let me know what you all think!! My little one clearly wasn’t impressed 😂❤️
T R I C E P S 🔥🔥 & shoulders & glutes & legs 😃 It has been far too long since I joined #healingwithpilates @zaynagold @ @functionfabulous This week's topic is #tricepsworkout workout So I decided to play with my chair today 😊 on this fine #wundachairwednesday for @lori.shipp Here is a fun number I played around with using the split pedal working a Tricep press, hip flexor pull while fighting to maintain that upright posture😯😁👌🏼, and taking it into a type of Front leg pull. This is a great shoulder/pec opener as well which always feels good for me who has shoulders that love to roll inward ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️
What's happening ? :
Start with a simple tricep press. As you lift the pedal, focus on pulling your elbows back and spreading the fronts of your shoulders wide and open to resist the opposite from happening.
I also tried lifting one leg at a time while sitting tall and holding pedal down. I'm trying so hard not to lean back when lifting that leg 😬 😰 so hard ‼️Pull tall out the crown of your head, lift up from your sit bones 👍🏼

Day 52 of #100daysofhandstands progress video... Slowly but surely I'm bringing my feet off the wall and starting to learn how to balance. I've managed to remember to tuck my head under and lengthen my neck now. Also help from all of you pro's about pressing into my knuckles and pushing into my hands.
The Twist is an advanced Pilates move, incorporating stability, coordination and balance. It’s just one of several advanced exercises which I’m striving to improve on. Another challenge lies in the forward flexion and rotation of the torso. Use of the breath, especially the exhale on exertion is crucial to the execution of this wonderful move.

Staying balanced over the Christmas season is definitely a challenge!! I always find it extra hard to keep up with workouts & healthy eating. Sometimes little things like going for a walk, drinking more water, going to bed earlier or making time to get in a quick workout can all help you to feel more energised for all of that festive fun!! 🎀🥂 #Balance

You guys I'm so happy that we don't have to get ready in the mornings and go to gym... Firstly we would more than likely look like this, I would have to rush to pack Jackson's diaper bag, feed the dogs, drive 15min plus to get there and Jackson would have to go to daycare... Our workouts now are filled with breastfeeding sessions, diaper changes, tickles, giggles and a book or 2 being read in between... I wouldn't have it any other way... It might take us an hour to get a 30minute workout done but that hour is filled with precious moments that I wouldn't trade for anything. Even better- we do 't have to rush to get to the gym at a certain time for classes, we can do them whenever it suits us😁💃 Mamas if you are battling to find time to get to the gym with your littles and want to start living a hralthier lifestyle with no ti.e constraints....
