Yesterday, we drove and drove until we reached the top of a faraway mountain where one of my favorite movie musical heroines (and real life Austrian) lived out much of her life. The Von Trapp Lodge and Brewery is a little Disney-like today but her spirit is still there and, as in the movie, she gave me the confidence to just move ahead another day and get on with life. Today, family is starting to descend on the old schoolhouse for a summer gathering and quite likely a mini-celebration of my mother. We're cleaning the house, making the beds, and slicing up all the good Vermont bread for sandwiches, eggs, cocktail hour. Instead of cooking outside, I'm channeling my inner Italian nonna by making sheet pan Sicilian Pizzas (they'll be in my next book) for dinner to serve with cold red wine. That lone tomato may, however, become my lunch. 🍅✨ ps. Hello! 👋🏼

Strangely enough I get a lot of questions about my teeth - in short they look great and I almost never brush them (lets say 4-5 times a year with just water) but peeps are still very concerned about teeth health on fruitarian diet. Im curious to see what the dentist will say after a 2 year checkup! Is this also something you'd like to hear about?
I laid it down in the kitchen last night....this is a Falafel Gyro topped with Tabouli and a Tahini dressing, and I'm not exaggerating but this ish was sooooo goood. I sound like I'm tooting my own horn but I'm proud of this dish because I made it, it's vegan, and the ish just tastes good a.f...i wish y'all could taste it through the pic.. I'm gonna try to get all these recipes together and share them with you all on my blog. I damn near have to revamp the recipes I get for them because if I made them according to the recipe I'm sure they wouldn't turn out right..lol
In a bit of a rush, I let my rice cooker (steam option) do the work this morning. In no time, breakfast was ready; a purple sweet potato, banana, maple syrup and a sprinkle of hemp and sunflower seeds for the crunch I so love.
Peas and lentils-- a protein packed soup! For the base of the soup: diced tomatoes, coconut milk, and nutritional yeast. A small amount of garlic salt and mixed veggies round out the rest of the ingredients. Fast, simple, and tasty!!! #plantpowered#lunch#vegansofig#vegetarian#vegan#plantbased

At my peak I was squeezing into a size 28. My plant powered anniversary is one year Aug. 21st. I was sitting at a solid comfortable 26 then.
