Choking hazard for marine pals ➖ Contrary to what you may hear, balloons don't biodegrade and certainly not when they land in the ocean (for what goes up, must come down). Decorate your festivities with some ocean-friendly decor like bunting, streamers or fairy lights ✨ #cleancoastlife#plasticfree#balloonsblow

Little bit from me:
My eyes opened while living in Bangkok and visiting different beaches around Thailand. The beaches were full of dirt & plastic😔(see pictures). And in Bangkok the amount of plastic bags being used (from the smallest ones to the biggest) is more than horrifying😔I was thinking “What are we doing to our beautiful planet?” and I have decided to make a difference.
So living with less plastic lifestyle is one of my passion. My second passion is whole food plant based lifestyle which has incredible positive impact on our environment and I have been living this lifestyle over 3 years now. Have a look at my other account @plant.powered.people
My blog (which I will release soon) is filled with these two passions of mine.
Thank you so much for reading & being here🙏
If you want to be featured with your story, please follow my account and send me an email with your story/message.
Wish you a beautiful day🌞#ourplanetourhome
Local markets are a great place to encounter people from all fields of work. Special camaraderie formed with our neighbours today with Lachie from @myfruitchai, Matt and Aurora from @grandridgebeer and Damo from @lekkerlekkersnackbar as products shared and team atmosphere built with awesome conversations. Thanks all for great work! Thank you @mtelizafarmersmkt for creating an awesome space for farmers, local businesses and environmental action. #supportLocal#beAlternative
Purslane! This edible so-called weed is growing in abundance in certain parts of our garden. It's so delicious, we actually bought some when we were on the road and passing through Sydney, from the Manly market. We also have seed from two varieties! But this one took zero effort and was already here. So now it's pesto for tonight's dinner. #edibleweeds#purslane#foragedfood
Have you heard? @danielandrewsmp read our emails asking him to #banthebag and decided that the environmental havoc that plastic bags wreak is not worth the few minutes of convenience they may provide. As of next year we may not be seeing the ugly grey plastic bags anymore, but bigger, tougher, more colourful plastic bags or plastic bags with environmentally friendly sounding names which may replace them are not a solution. If you want to make a difference to the health of our oceans, remember your reusable produce and green bags 💫
Baked #plasticfree seeds and beans, I went a little too crazy with the chilli flakes 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (some of the seeds were out of the squash I ate a couple of days ago... I feel sad that for so many years I binned them!)
Another week, another amazing group of volunteers on Goldsmith Island in the Great Barrier Reef. Another 20kg of small plastic items removed from turtle nesting beaches. Keen to join us for a holiday that matters? We've just added STACKS of new GBR conservation adventures for 2018! Head to the link in our bio to find out more!
The first lifestyle change I made towards #reducedwasteliving was to stop using plastic straws. This was looong before I even heard of a #zerowaste concept.
I went to @ushakamarineworld a few years ago and visited the penguins. Most of the "show" was about pollution and it's impact on these penguins. The i made a #penguinpromise to never use straws again.

It has been a little more than 4 weeks since I started #bringyourown project!
Here are my numbers (I only counted when I was in the situation where I could easily used disposable but I chose not to by using my own stuff)
I saved.... Wooden chopsticks 4
Paper napkins 50
Plastic Cups 25+
Paper cups 6
Plastic Straws 26
Plastic utensils 20
Plastic grocery bags 5
Paper bags 4
Plastic take out containers 2+
Great Start for the first month. There were a day or two ( or three) when I got lazy and forgot to pack my stuff.
I usually carry 1-2 handkerchief/ fabric napkins, a spoon and a fork, reusable wooden chopsticks, a stainless steel straw, a stainless steel container, and my klean kanteen tumbler. My bag did get pretty heavy but it is so worth it. It feel so good. There are times that I have to use disposable stuff but at least I can try my best on a daily basis and save what I can. It helped me to think about the package before I buy anything and surely cut down a lot of bottled drinks. 🙂
Plant spam. Finally got a Spider Plant today! It’s going to live on this epic cane shelf I got for free yesterday! The guy who I got the shelf from originally salvaged it from landfill 😱he thought it was too good to throw away and brought it home with him. He didn’t want to charge anyone for it he just didn’t want it sitting in the tip! People we are throwing away perfectly good things!! Any way 🙄Thankfully this guy has found a new home and will be a lovely plant shelf in my room!! I tend to buy plants I can self propagate when they get bigger so I can reuse the pots they come in 😉 I store them in the garage with my coyo containers for planting later 😊
Anyway, loving the vibe in my room right now!
Getting a little head start on tomorrow's meal prep 👋🏽 Cooked enough rice for 4-5 days, chopped up lettuce for salads, roasted almonds to make almond butter & weighed out some oats I'll have to take on the go for work the next two days 👌🏽
Little things like this help me stay on track!
What helps you? ☺️
ps homemade almond buyer recipe can be found #ontheblog - click the link in my bio 😜
I am amazed. I am obsessed with seeing women encourage support and empower others. Women so strong they can be gentle. So educated they can be humble so fierce they can be compassionate so patient and free. I love women who want to inspire. Because of your tender heart and fiery brain you will make a difference, inspire and help others in so many ways. Strong women build one another and shine light on one another. We are all one love. Surrounding yourself with good people is magic. Thank you ladies for sharing your beautiful stories and radiating your love 🔮👁 You are goddesses all over 🌎 Do the universe a favor don’t hide your magic ✨
