Watching the birds fly to their nests, hearing the crickets suddenly become silent. Feeling that cold breeze brush through my hair. Having not just one but two sunrises. Seeing the moon pass over the sun. What an incredible sight. It felt surreal, and I still have goosebumps. 🌜🌞🌛#blackholesun
On our way home from our road trip couple weeks ago, we took the long way home through Mt Rainier and we couldn't pass up on making a pit stop at this gorgeous place! #veritasmae#pnw#pnwisbest#pnwonderland
If any of you have ever driven out to the 🌋Mt Adams area, you'll notice that a lot of it is burnt and charred around the base of the mountain. I always find it interesting reading up about past forest fires & the story behind it. Seems like 3 major fires happened here in 2008 Cold Springs Fire, 2012 Cascade Creek Fire, & 2015 Cougar Creek Fire. All 3 started by lightning⚡️Here's @laurentizz @sarina_clark hiking towards Adams #nowyouknow#mtadams
Got to try out my new @sharethewild trekking poles this weekend and I loved them! Super light weight and easy to store. Definitely bringing them on the Wonderland this weekend. #sharethewild#sharethewildwednesday

A pretty good rule of thumb for me to determine between healthy and toxic environments is whether or not I am being empowered to become my best self as an individual or shamed into becoming a version more appealing to that environment. If you get shamed into being a different version of you, you might end up a better person, but you won't be the best version of yourself. If you're not being encouraged to grow into your own individuality, you might be in an environment that wants to control you.
Been thinking about self reliance a lot lately inbetween everyone and their mother's opinions on what I should be doing with my life and my time from the move to Oregon from Arizona. The video I uploaded today is a reflection on that. Trust me, I have a plan. I always do. ✌🏻
Here's the first Sophie picture from the past! This was taken on the very night that I adopted her - from a mobile adoption center that was parked in the bookstore parking lot for an event! By request, I took Sophie into our HR office to meet everyone and, as you can see, she wasn't shy at all!! She really seemed to like jumping onto shoulders! For a few giddy moments, I harbored dreams of walking around, like some very cool pirate, with her perched on my shoulder, parrot-style. However, that phase of hers didn't last too long! 😏
For all those joining in, today is Sophie's 2nd birthday - so it's an Instagram takeover with a Sophie theme!! More pictures to follow! And, there will be two prize giveaways - just leave a comment wishing Sophie a Happy Birthday on my previous hand-lettered post and you are entered to win!! #sophietheeyebrowedcat
It is only with the heart that one can see, hear and feel clearly. Let your heart be moved by animals, people, places, kindness, thoughtfulness, love, respect. But look beyond what you see and see all things from your heart, this is where true beauty lies.
Happy Wednesday! 🐾❤️🐾
