Shot this POC for an action/martial arts film a short while ago and I felt so in my element.
I grew up around action films and epic action sequences and when you have references thrown around in pre-production such as Leon, The Raid and John Wick - you know your in for a treat!
I can’t say too much about the film but it was amazing to shoot and I’m really excited to see it in the grade and as a whole, once it’s completed.
This was one of my favourite shots of lead @lyjeanpaul - his team and the small crew we had were so hardworking and overall a great atmosphere to be around.

Big thanks to @lines.of.light for providing the extra hands and to @shootblue for the great deal and service on kit.
Natasha Wilson @deanastacia is a Lifestyle & Fashion Photographer based in Los Angeles, California. Her work is inspired by culture, colors and her passion for travel. With her series titled "Rise", the photographer aims to showcase a physical representation of white washing in America. 🌈
The artist's statement:
"White washing in Hollywood and all other forms of media have been prominent to me ever since I was a little girl. I would see rows of magazines at the bookstores and instantly get bored at the lack of diversity and color throughout. I can not even imagine what it's like for POC to be constantly reminded that their hair, skin color, and culture is not "in fashion" or likable.
I have always tried to diversify my portfolio of work but unless you blatantly say you are MAD about something, no one will get what you are trying to say. We can talk about how much it pisses us off but we can't get anywhere without action.
By creating this series and opening this topic, I hope to inspire not only Hollywood but other photographers and creatives that refuse to show diversity in their media." 🙌🙌🏾🙌🏿🙌🏻

And so we used “I am undocumented”. I think someone who knew about euphemisms knew we would always be hated if we continued to be illegal. I understand. But illegal through and through. It’s a real social condition. Keep trying to re-name us (see DREAMER, see DACA-mented, see ASPIRING CITIZEN). I don’t judge illegals for how they identify to live, survive and thrive. I just know I came here illegally. And the hate grows, regardless. But so does love. Look at 2012 me! Cute AF. ❤️ All optimistic! …
