Went to what was supposed to be a peaceful candlelit vigil mourning the loss of lives at the white supremacist/KKK rally. It quickly became hijacked by anti fascists who wanted to scream on what was supposed to be a silent walk and boo speakers they didn't agree with. Funny thing about it? Politically, I agree with them, but this was not the time and place. We were supposed to sing and march silently and respectfully and that did not happen. I understand why people are angry. I am too. I just don't think their methods work and they were disrespectful. Honestly the level of anger and tension even scared me a little. We need to be unified not decisive. This was a way of showing a unified front, but I left feeling bullied and disheartened. I was also slightly fearing my safety (yes I am a wimp). Even my Dad who was a revolutionary in his own right back in his college years said that most likely at least one of the extremists was probably an undercover cop hoping to incite violence. These guys hijacked a black lives matter protest also a few months ago. Crazy really. Also FUCKING LIKE 300 BATS. That was kind of cool. #candlelitvigil#protest#charlottesville#solidarity#sacramento#antitrump#capitalbuilding#politicalrally#antiracism#revolution
Moratorium against the #VietnamWar , 1969
In this picture, more than 5,00,000 people marched in Washington to protest US involvement in the Vietnam War. It remains the largest #politicalrally in the nation's #history . The rallies were part of a string of demonstrations that took place around the world, with groups from #SanFrancisco to #Boston and #London petitioning for peace.
These pics are new to me... What about you guys, have you seen it before...? At first I didn't want to post the 3rd pic where she is crying and giving a press meet. But gathered guts to post it. Heartbreaking that is! 💗🔨
Ps: I think she is not giving a press meet but simply is coming out of the assembly where the horrendous incident took place. Correct me if I am wrong... 😐
