Album: That's The Spirit
FFO: @linkinpark , @alltimelow
Song(s): Throne - I could've picked nearly any song on this record as a decent introduction but this one is definitely my favourite. Clearly influenced by Meteora-era Linkin Park (RIP Chester 💜), the electronics blend in super well with the instrumental, and aid vocalist Oli to give the song a huge anthemic feel, perfect for a stadium setting (which they're selling out now, who would've thought 10 or even 5 years ago haha).
My Thoughts: I've always enjoyed this band to a certain degree, a few singles here and there definitely caught my eye, like Pray For Plagues, It Never Ends and Go To Hell, For Heaven's Sake. I could never fully appreciate them though until this record. It was the first that I could listen to from front-to-back without skipping a song, which is actually quite a feat for me these days 🙄
What's your favourite BMTH album and/or song?
FFO: @handslikehouses , @alotlikebirds
Slow Dancing Forever - a very chill pop song with a surprisingly heavy and saddening storyline
Playing Catch With .22 - progressive rock with clever wordplay, a motivating message for hopeless romantics and catchy melodies
My Thoughts: Honestly one of, if not my favourite record of all time. Every song has a unique feel, the musicianship is tight, Brent's singing was the best it'd ever been, the vocal melodies get stuck in your head for days and the lyricism/story-telling is second to none. I can really relate to this record, and it never gets old 😍

Now spinning... Mirage by Fleetwood Mac
Listening to their previous album Tusk followed by this is quite something. Mirage was a completely different pace of change for Fleetwood Mac, and although I'm not a huge fan of their 80's releases, Mirage is still very enjoyable.
