“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.” -Audrey Hepburn
Laughter is one of the greatest gifts there is, if you ask me. So, I hope this Thanksgiving you have spent or are spending some time being grateful for those around you that make you laugh. I certainly couldn’t be more grateful for all the amazing people I have around me who make me laugh every day.
In my family, we refer to this as the "Miracle Picture". Weeks before this photo was taken, my Mom lay in a hospital bed in NYC with strict instructions that she was not allowed to go anywhere for thanksgiving (for good reason). However, long story short, she defied the odds and recovered enough to fly out to Utah for thanksgiving.
She spent the week directing traffic in the kitchen from her chair that resembled a throne. And even though she didn't personally prepare anything, we couldn't have done it without her.
This year, her influence was felt in a much different way. In her absence, we compiled her recipes and reflected on the memory of what turned out to be our one and only rehearsal dinner from last year.
Every thanksgiving will be different from here on out. But she lives on in so many ways. Mostly in her sweet potato casserole recipe today haha.
I am forever thankful for her and the time we shared together as Mother and son.
Life can change in an instance. Strive to express and show love and gratitude to those you hold close and dear.
I am so very thankful for friends and family that expressed their love for me, my Mom, and my family this year. It has sustained me and lifted me in a way that I could not have achieved on my own.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️
