Thought I'd take my old denims for a spin... medical grade lingerie just for fun, comfort, and... modesty 😉😁😂. This morning I read about a woman who was 3 weeks postpartum when her mother in law gave her a too small dress "for when you lose the weight." Apparently this MiL also pressures her to wear makeup and dresses at home because that's how women should please their men.
Dear women everywhere, it's not your job to please anyone. It's your job to fall in love with yourself and act accordingly. Some people think this is selfish... self serving is selfish. Self care is loving to everyone around you. Self respect creates healthy boundaries so you can thrive from the soul level, through the body. If you're in an abusive relationship, I encourage you to start planning your escape. Talk to friends. Do not let pride and shame get in the way of living and thriving.
I love my postpartum body. I miss my ab strength something fierce, but it'll come back in due time... for now, I'm meant to take it easier. For now, I'm a soft lounger - rocker -bouncer - feeder all in one. Love yourself, and do not settle for a partner that needs you to look a certain way for his pleasure. That's fucked up. 🙏👌🦄✨👯💖

You want me to help motivate and inspire people?? You want me to be a positive influence in their lives and teach them how to be healthy?? You want me to mentor others who want to do the same?? You want me to hand pick who I work with and together, help others?? You want me to earn trips, prizes and be recognized for my hard work and my leadership role?? You want me to go away on a private retreat where I'll be around my friends where I'll get spolied- meals, hikes, workouts, spa, wine, etc?? You want me to read personal development books where I can really change on the inside?? Hmm... I don't know??? It's gotta be a scam, right?? Bahahha. Umm, no. It's not a scam when you're helping people live a healthy lifestyle. It's not a scam when someone says, "if it wasn't for this group, I would've quit a long time ago..." It's not a scam when you're watching people change for the better right in front of you. ❤️ I seriously love what I do!!! It's hard work, late nights, early mornings but I enjoy what I do. The transition from 2 to 3 kids has been bumpy...to say the least. Some days my only win is keeping them fed and alive. It's been a struggle to find some semblance of balance with all the kids and unfortunately prioritizing my self-care has fallen by the wayside. That's probably why this post on @throughmamaseyesblog really resonated with me. Hoping to start implementing the helpful tips and start nourishing myself 💕
This is my stopping point.
This is when I say, I've had enough. ✋🏻 It came time to pull out the skinny jeans, last night. I had a moment where I found myself falling back into old thought patterns, and felt awful feeling that somehow maybe me think my worth lied in my pants size again. I got that pit in my gut when I realized, oh shit, what have I done? I've fallen out of balance again.
I rarely use my scale, especially when lifting weights. My jeans are my scale...I don't wear real pants often, but when I slid those sunny ripped pale denim bad boys, last night, I instantly knew....I was off the wagon.
When I get busy, I don't realize I've fallen off track. I start to retrace my steps to the moment that led me to this path...was it the Halloween candy? Was it too many parties and wine? Was it the occasional Starbucks drink? Was it the lack of meal prepping and planning?
The truth, it was a little of those combined...the REAL reason, the last two weeks my support group and fitfamily,The Fit Kingdom- was on a break until after the holidays withthe exception of our easy slow cooker meals this week!
The result? I gained 4lbs in those two weeks, and a little bit of bloat. The truth is, I don't show up for myself without the accountability of our wellness community. We hold each other up, we motivate and inspire each other and we give each other grace when shit gets hard. We are not perfect, but we do preach balance. We SLAY our fitness together. We are stronger together, and in so thankful to have them to keep me from my yo yo nature.
Thanks to these groups, badass 30 minute home workouts, and superfoods I have been free from adding 15lbs every holiday. Thanks to my group I don't have to feel that nauseating feeling of jean shopping for a larger size because the ones in my closet don't fit.
Thanks to this trifecta of support+ nutrition+fitness I don't go back to old bad habits, self loathing, or pity parties. Have KNOW I have the tools I need to turn this ship around and keep strong during the holiday season, and still enjoy pie!

||CHANGE|| I'm working remotely this morning, taking some 'ME' time before appointments 😉
Can I just say, how symbolic is that owl in the background 🙌🏼 I've been having some meaty online conversations with some babes in biz this morning around CHANGE, and some really good stuff came out of it that I'd love to share.
As I always say, change is the only constant. Do not fear change, embrace it! I've (slowly) learnt to accept this over time.
The beauty of life is that we get to write our own story and can reinvent ourselves as many times as we wish! How amazing is that? Really think about that for a moment...powerful stuff.
We don't have to stay stagnant. When we get to a place where something no longer serves us - let it go. Change only feels scary because of our fear of the unknown. But that fear is a good sign you are on the right path.
Never see a change of heart as a failure. As our lives evolve so do our dreams. A change is never giving up, it's merely starting a new chapter. And it's so exciting 💫
So my caterpillars, shed that skin that no longer serves you and observe the beauty that emerges 🦋

So glad we waited 24 hours before officially naming her and choosing the name we loved and that suited her sweet little face. I couldn't imagine calling her anything else 💓

||LIFESTYLE CREATION|| I took the morning off today and attended a school excursion with Miss 8.
We visited the Broome Museum and then the Town Beach Water Park.
Miss 8 was soooo chuffed to have me there as a parent helper, and I enjoyed every moment.
Early on in my professional career I chose family over career progression. Family first!
I've consciously made an effort over the years to attend assemblies, liturgies and excursions as often as possible, which hasn't always been logistically easy, but I made it my priority.
I knew that I wanted to eventually create a lifestyle where I could choose how I spent my time and fit my work around my family as opposed to my family around work! And I'm now blessed to be in that position.
Take some time to think about how you want your life to look. Hold a vision in your mind. Once your babies hit the school years, life gets even busier.
What do YOU need and want? When we don't get what we need and want, we feel frustrated and resentful. Life is too short to not go after your dreams and create the life you desire.
What one thing can you do today, to get you closer to YOUr dreams?
Every year at this time I would get annoyed/disgusted/embarrassed because I realized how much candy I've eaten since Halloween. The wrappers in the trash would make me think, "Ok, I'm going to make a change." But, of course I wouldn't. I would think, "Well, I can't now because of Thanksgiving...BUT, I can't do it before Christmas. So I might as well make a fresh start on Jan 2." Sound familiar??? So what would I do In the meantime??? Eat whatever I felt like. I'd think.. "What's the point of watching what I'm eating now if I'm not going to take it seriously until January 2?" I started talking myself OUT of why I should start now. It's too stressful with the holidays- family, friends, company, shopping, etc. So instead of getting a JUMP START on January 2....I would let myself go and do NOTHING. I became the total statistic of gaining 7-10 pounds during the holidays. UGGH!!!! We have to remind ourselves that the holidays are ONE DAY. We have THANKSGIVING (one day) and CHRISTMAS (one day). Yes, I'll cheat and overeat and probably drink too much. But guess what happens on Black Friday and Dec 26? I go right back to following my plan....BECAUSE it's ONE DAY! I can't allow ALL my hard work of waking up at 4am go right out the window just because a few weeks out of the year are little CRAZY.
So, if you want to stay on track or get a jump start on your fitness plan, LET'S DO THIS!!!! My upcoming group Beat the Holiday Bulge starts the Monday after Thanksgiving (Nov 27) and will end Dec 23. Don't be like the old me and throw in the towel and take the easy way out to January. Just because the weather is getting colder and we find ourselves wearing ELASTIC PANTS and OVER-SIZED SWEATERS doesn't mean we stop working on our fitness. We don't get to hide out and pretend we aren't gaining weight and eating crappy. One of the many things I’ve learned after reading the book, “The First Forty Days” was the importance of keeping the body warm during post partum. The book includes several recipes for teas and infusions, but one that caught my eye was Nettle tea. -
From the book:
“Nettle tea improves milk flow and quality, and is rich in iron and protein...
It’s great during your third trimester to nourish you and throughout postpartum, too.”
Before I jumped on the bandwagon and purchased a pound of dried Nettle leaves, I decided to test a box of @tradmedicinals Nettle tea. I add a few lemon slices and a teaspoon of honey. It is shockingly delicious and I’m definitely incorporating it into my daily routine.
