Had some turkey jerky & coffee w/almond milk and coconut oil to fuel my workout this morning (can’t eat to much before a workout or it makes me sick). So the perfect #PostWorkoutMeal was @knowfoods Classic waffle (relatively low carb, dairy and gluten free, high in protein and fiber). Topped with 1 Tbl all-natural peanut butter and 1/2 Tbl pure maple syrup. Boosted the protein a bit more with my favorite turkey bacon. So delicious and very satisfying!!

It is officially the weekend, and that means there is plenty of time to make pancakes! The Healthy Oatmeal Protein Pancakes I made are from @southerninlaw . Meal #2 of the day (post workout): oatmeal for good healthy, slow releasing carbs to give you energy and keep ur metabolism rolling throughout the day. 5 whole eggs, a great source of protein which is needed throughout the day but especially after a workout. Eggs are also a great source of omega 3 and essential fatty acids(EFAs) which ur body can not produce on its own but are needed for overall health and more specifically good brain function. 3 pieces or very lean, high protein turkey bacon. The pills you see are a multivitamin and fish oil for more omega 3.  Don’t forget your water. HYDRATION IS KEY no matter ur health goal. Your body is about 73% water so give It the water it needs. A good estimate is half your body weight in ounces and more if your training and sweating. This meal is rather large especially for a shredding diet but ur post workout meal should be the biggest of the day especially in the morning. You need large amounts of protein after a workout to help start that recovery process but you also need larger amounts of carbs than usual to replace the decreased glycogen levels after a workout. EAT BIG TO GET BIG
