The holiday season is over and once again it's that time of the year people begin to make positive changes. For many people that starts with their diet. It can be difficult juggling a busy work life and personal life alongside making healthy food choices. If I could recommend one healthy habit it would have to be drinking a smoothie every morning. You've heard that old saying, 'breakfast is the most important meal of the day', well it's true. There are a great number of benefits to making it your first healthy habit including:
• it's a good boost of energy to start the day • include oats in the smoothie and the release of energy is steady throughout the day
• there is less chance of an energy peak and resulting energy crash
•it's easier to kick the habitual morning coffee • more than one of 'your 5 a day' • starting the day with a healthy habit makes it easier to make more healthy decisions during the day

Sometimes I like to switch it up and have a smoothie bowl. In the smoothie is: coconut dairy free yogurt, cherries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, banana and oats. Sprinkled on top is: cacao, blueberries, chia seeds, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, goji berries and almonds.

Although I am not doing the #10daygreensmoothiecleanse I am still using the book for recipes. This is from day 3, but I modified it, because I am doing high intensity workouts on a regular basis, so I have to be mindful of the fuel I need for energy and recovery. ••

I drink 16 oz before my workout and 16 oz after. I drink smoothies everyday because it’s the easiest way for me to eat my veggies and if you didn’t know veggies have protein, which is good for muscle recovery. But, If you think about it, smoothies are just glorified ADULT baby food, because It’s just a cup or bowl of mush. 😂😂😂
Anyway, this is my pre-workout smoothie and the recipe is as follows: ————————————————
• 3 handfuls of spring mix
• 3 cups of water
• 8 baby banana’s
• 1 Gala Apple
• 6 oz of blueberries
• 2 tbsp of flax seed

Began my day with a yoga flow and just finished up 42 reps of the daily moves and I feel AMAZING. When I woke up I wasn't even sure whether I wanted to work out, and if I did whether I could get through it since I've been thrown off with sickness and sleep schedules. But I told myself that once I was wearing my fave leggings and braided my hair for a sweat sesh I'd be motivated and excited--and I was!
This is the first workout I've been able to do in over a week, so my first participation in the #TIULoveYourBody challenge. I'm not fully able to do this challenge in general, but I'm determined to be thankful for what I get here and there 💕

When I woke up I wasn't even sure whether I wanted to work out, and if I did whether I could get through it since I've been thrown off with sickness and sleep schedules. But I told myself that once I was wearing my fave leggings and braided my hair for a sweat sesh I'd be motivated and excited--and I was! Grapes, banana, mixed greens, almonds, chia seeds, frozen blueberries, water and a drop of lemongrass vitality. I broke one of my multigreen caps and threw that in there too. All in all it was a random mixture, but tasty! Thinking of adding eggs back into my diet. Hmmm🤔. We’ve got our own chickens so I’d only eat those eggs. Have to put more thought into that one...

My workout was insane 👊🏽💫 I really hard on myself but can honestly say I killed it!’ 💣💣 some of the last sets made me work extra hard as you can see in my facial expression 😂😂 stopped @puregreen for a very berry post workout protein smoothie. So good!!

It was such a tough Core class that even me who is at the gym on regular basis had a hard time to coop and I am so sore!! 😂
