Here, a Borzov stomp has been modified in order to lock the torso in an upright position, isolate a single leg and limit the degrees of freedom. The pogo creates a pre-stretch, forcing preactivation to enhance concentric activity via co-contraction of areas such as the calf complex. In weeks to come, the exercise will become band assisted to further target velocity with some overspeed work. May seem like an odd progression (making the exerice easier in some respects), but adding weight improves eccentric activity and therefore negatively affects muscle slack reducing mechanisms. After all, the target of this particular exercise variant is to improve high velocity activity via early stage rate of force development!
