#transformationtuesday of my back left is 2003 at a tender innocent 17 years of age and right is this week at 31 . I always had that #vtaper but my lats just responded to deadlifts better than most people (I was repping 220kg at 17) as the only other thing I did was some pulldowns. A range of carefully chosen exercises has gotten my back much thicker and still wider over the years which has carried on now I'm powerlifting and finished with bodybuilding but it's still improving due to continued progressive overload and building my work capacity. If you ever get impatient with your development just remind if you do it for 15 Years

I am 100% myself when I lift 
You can't be fake or half arsed when it comes to lifting 
You either do it or you don't.
My mindset would be different if I didn't have powerlifting or lifting in general, it gives me a goal to chase and therefore gives me a purpose and a drive and this influences how I tackle the rest of my life.
Just goes to show that different people have different ways to get to how they wanna be,mine just happens involves heavy lifting (and occasionally hurting myself lol).

4 sets of 8 with 155kg on box squats. Knees  still fucked so most likely will be doing another complete cycle with higher rep box squats, but the benefits of this show in my form (better Glute engagement and more upright). Any form of squatting is better than no squatting! 
90 minutes of deep tissue massage seemed to help all my muscle groups and my elbows tremendously, but my patella tendon will take a while to heal.

The day this was taken I left the house at 520am. I worked 12hrs between two jobs plus an hour of travel time. I had laundry in the washer that needed to be hung up, and needed to meal prep for the next day, when I'd be getting up at 5am to go back to work. On top of all that I also had a cold. This was 495 pounds. This was 3x my bodyweight. This was a 30lb PR for me. You're not too busy, you just don't want it bad enough.

Whatever it is you want, to lose weight, build muscle, get stronger, get leaner, jump higher, run faster, or even if it's not fitness related, work for it. Set a goal for yourself, set mini goals on the way to that to keep yourself motivated and see that you are getting somewhere, and whatever you do don't give up. Everyone falls off the wagon a time or two, but the faster you get back up the less work it'll take to make up for it. Continue working towards your goals. Continue striving to be your best self every single day. .
Every person has great potential, few ever realize even a fraction of that potential.

Nothing to fancy to see today. Pretty boring actually! Getting through my deload week. Chest today - last working set here which was 65kg x 5 and also got some flat dumbbell presses done for assistance work (which I never normally do). Shown is 45kg x 3. That was the last of 3 sets with those and the first time taking the 45’s for a spin. 
Sorry for the shitty camera angles guys, I know they are not the best! Haha. 
Roll on next week when I’m back to the heavy lifts!! 😅

Can bench 50kg for 10, then 3 or 4 sets 55kg for 5 (this was 4th set pretty slow) 
Once I hit 60kg I can either do 60kg for around 3reps or sometimes I can only do 1 and anything over 60kg is a mess. Any tips for improving,  more reps at lower weight or different accessory work. You can see where I get stuck. My triceps I'd say are fairly strong. Help......

So...dinner..trying to increase proteins is proving tricky but I will get there. Not sure how I forgot about tempeh! Yum. Dinner is 150g tempeh and a heap of roast veg.

Resistance Training 
Larger muscles burn more calories and more fat.While cardio burns calories and fat when you're performing it, high rep strength training has what is known as high EPOC or "Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption." This is a fancy term for saying how long your metabolism is elevated after exercise.
Resistance training increases muscle strength by making your muscles work against a weight or force. Different forms of resistance training include free weights, weight machines, resistance bands and your own body weight. A beginner needs to train two or three times per week to gain the maximum benefit for weight loss. Resistance training is something that l have worked on the whole time l was losing my 50kg.
I still love to lift heavy stuff it make's me feel strong and totally keeps my mind on a positive path.It makes me Happy 😊

Appreciation post. I am about 6 kilos up from comp weight, I am a little fluffy. How do I know my weight? My clothes.I feel comfortable in my own skin. I have cellulite, I have traps... tonight I benched 85 kg 3 3 2 2.... I never used to walk around in shorts because I was afraid of what people would say... these days I just wear whatever feels comfortable for me... Last night when squatting some teenage boys asked me how much I was squatting I told them 90kg for 10 reps... they were in awe of me, and said wow that’s so cool, you are so strong...I want to be strong like you one day. Last week a girl said she liked my traps and they were “goals” for once I wasn’t embarrassed about my body. It’s funny how society has changed to accept all sorts of body types... I am comfortable in my own skin, it’s taken many many years... I strive to be healthy for me and my body type... Celebrate who and what you are....
