40 Days of Star Wars: 5
Power of the Force series
In 1995, when Kenner stepped back into the Star Wars action figures business after a 10 year hiatus, they created a bit of a stir by considerably beefing up the beloved characters they were representing.
Luke looks like he's been spending more time getting swole instead of tending to those vaporators on the North Ridge. Vader's pumped as well. Stormtroopers looked like they had pec enhancements, and Leia's tiny torso and thin limbs made her look like a cross between a spider and a chimp - the original Leia in this series is still referred to by collectors as 'Monkey Leia'.
Fortunately, Kenner heard what fans and collectors were saying and created more faithful representations in subsequent releases.
Still the best version of Mon! Power of the force 2. 5 POA for me please! @hasbro @mrstevie18 please do a force link update for her and Tarkin! The two figures we were missing from the Rogue One line! No matter what the criticism from the collectors @hasbro is doing a amazing job and now with the reintroduction of the vintage line, they are appeasing all collectors. #starwars#hasbrostarwars#rogueone#starwarsrogueone#actionfigure#potf2#poweroftheforce
Nice vintage photostat of the 'work in progress' POTF back. All figures not included in the picture yet, but from the same and final photoshoot as the final 92 and 93 backs. This was just for creating mock-ups and layout boards, check out this link from the Archive for how a copy like this could be used by the design firm (LPK which you can see written on the envelope):
