We've got about 5 weeks to go until Baby Linden's due and we're starting to get a room together! Lots to do yet, but better late than never. Good thing I went to the gym before I put together the dresser tonight. Prince, however, needs to hit the weights while Kiko works on her hide and seek skills #dogmom#dachshund#shibainu#handywoman#powertools

This morning's project with scrap wood from my wonderful dad's garage. Apparently he trusts me with his tools more than my brothers.😝 It's pretty rough, but it has got a "yay" from my 16 month old, so that's all that matters. #diytoys#preschoolplay#powertools#homemade#woodentoys

I've been doing fisheries work for about the same time I've been climbing! Yesterday two of my favourite passions collided well sorta! Here we are bolting new boulders to attach temperature loggers to asses the change in seasonal temperatures and its effects on wild Pacific #salmon and #steelhead on the Lower Bridge River, BC. The impacts of the hydro electric dams throughout this watershed continue to destroy and impact the wild salmon and steelhead to this area. I hope in my life time I see the removal of these dams and a return to a more balanced ecosystem, and one not controlled by corporations. I am truly blessed to work in this area and for the nations which still depend on these salmon as a source of life and culture. #steelheadconservation#salmonconservation#hilti @patagonia @patagonia_flyfish
It appears that the Kiwis @kerrynf and @fosterkj are starting a movement across Portland. This house I did a little differently than others. Never picked up a brush! Well except for tomorrow's touch ups... The last two days were spent masking the windows, shooting the trim, masking the trim and shooting the house.
So after using the @kregjig Accu-cut for a few weeks I have come to a conclusion. It performs best in cross cut situations. I was able to square the ends on this 20" wide panel in about 90 seconds. If I need to do a longer rip that I won't do on the table saw then I turn to the #Kregjig Rip Cut. Anyone else taken the plunge on the Accu-Cut yet?
I seem to be spending a lot more quality time at the bench as of late. About 3 years ago I bought a set of used @leevalleytools beveled edge bench chisels ($45 for set of 5, ebay) thinking they'd be a great starter set to get me through the growing pains of a beginner woodworker. A year later I bought this vintage Millers Falls 1455b low-angle block plane ($20, ebay) as a restoration project. I didn't intend for these tools to be "buy your last tool, first." Even though I desire a high-end apron plane or a set of Japanese chisels, I can't justify it with these tools functioning so well. Do you have tools that have outperformed your expectations? If so what are they?
