Yoga provides the space we need to pause and be aware of our thoughts and actions. It provides the clarity we need to live mindfully and abide in presence. Fear, anger and anxiety is almost always linked to being engaged in the past or the future. Without present-moment awareness these emotions can take over you on auto-pilot and in many many cases you’ll realize there truly ISNT an issue at hand. Only your mind fooling you to believe so. Recognize your surroundings, then decipher the difference between your reality and your thoughts. Brake the attachment to the voice in your head and always come back to the present. It is always there for you. ❤️

Ok ok. So I get it—-I get up early. I’m receiving so many comments about how, why and how many of ‘you’ can do it like me. First of all-Be a scientist-find what works for your body, we are all made differently- do not do ‘it’ like me- DO YOU!! Please do not DO what I do or anyone else does if it puts you in harms risk. I mean, to be honest- I really won’t do anything I don’t absolutely love doing. I am driven by passion-that is my alarm clock. I do not wake up to a buzz, instead I wake up eager to practice and move inward spending some time with myself testing my limits and pushing my boundaries. This is nothing but a way of life for me. A collection of insights and outcomes of accumulated years and experiences. I’ve done many facets and attempted many different ways of living that I thought I ‘wanted’...they were ALWAYS short lived because my heart was not in it. The one thing that has remained constant in my life through relationships, careers choices/Ventures, drinking and drug abuse, etc, etc ...has been the ‘gift’ that I can only say I was born with-to explore and push my limits- to live MY life powerfully from a place of doing what I absolutely love. 😊😊😊
So, do I wake up earlier than most? Yes. Bc it’s quiet, calm and I have a jump start on my day- ‘marking’ things off my checklist before most people are even dragging themselves out of bed. I wake up eager to take hold and seize the gift I have been given of a new day.
I can only hope each of you find this passion for yourselves...you have one life-create it as you do wish. 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

The #LetsBalance challenge starts tomorrow! Day 1 is #sirsasana or #headstand .
Headstand has become a meditation for me. At the end of my daily practice I take headstand for 100 breaths. You can start with 10 breaths, and each week keep adding 5 more breaths until you build up the endurance to stay 100 breaths or more! Kicking up to a wall or facing a wall to walk the feet up are great options if you are just learning.

Regarding the practice, I have to admit that here in Mysore I get easily frustrated. I’m in the middle of hundreds of practitioners... I see them, getting new postures, improving their practice and their flexibility... and then, there is me... it is my third time studying with Sharath and I got a new asana just last week, my practice is now more painful and hard than the first day, I suffer every single practice, I don’t feel my flexibility improving and I just don’t find the way to keep opening my body more than practicing daily, with calm, quietness and love... but I have to admit that here is easy to get irritated, frustrated and sad... but what to do?! This is it, ashtanga always gives you exactly what you need... I got sick, I’m still recovering, I’m lacking strength and power, I got injured as soon as I arrived here (and old injury coming out once and again)... so when I listen to friends complaining because they just got (4? Asanas this month) or because Sharath didn’t invite them to the led intermediate, I see that every one of us is here to learn a lesson, to have our egos killed, destroyed and vanished. Or not, who knows! Mine, this trip, is being completely smashed into the floor... hopefully this is good news :)

This was SOOOOOO hard!!!
I saw @cyogalab do this and decided to give it a try. I thought it wouldn't be bad because I can do it easily when I'm doing a wall split. Apparently with two legs down it's SOOOO much harder!! I think I'm going to do this everyday to help train myself to be able to press up into handstand one day 😎

I dislike this pose because it reminds me of how tight I am in certain areas of my body. If I work towards squaring off my hips my back heel lifts off my mat into more of a crescent lunge position, and if I work at sealing the outer edge of my back foot down I over-arch in my lower back and my pelvis isn’t neutral. I can’t win 🙂🙂🙂.
What makes this pose somewhat enjoyable is widening my stance a bit, placing my hands into my hips, releasing expectation and just working through the discomfort 👊🏽 deep breaths ! Thank you @shinewithclaireperry for reminding me that I should do this posture more often (Nicolette always gives me a good adjustment in vira1 😉) #yoga10daystillxmas ✨🎄
♥️🙏🏻📿🌙We underestimate the depth of abuse and lies behind our thoughts 💭 and the massive strength and stamina and ability in our bodies. Time to overestimate both and plan accordingly. Building stamina with a few Backbends. Because my body can. Do what you can with your body without underestimating its amazing powers.
