MEDITATION ON "SO HUM"

It is a very simple process, which can remove your mental stress in 10 minutes. 
STEPS:

1. Sit in a comfortable place with spine erect. 
2. Switch off your mobiles. 
3. Close your eyes. 
4. Now slowly bring your awareness to your breath. 
5. Breath slowly but deeply and rythemically. 
6. While inhalation, mentally pronounce "SO" and while exhalation mentally pronounce "HUM". This is the natural sound of breathing also. 
7. No other thoughts in between. If thoughts come, let them come and go. 
8. Do it for at least 10 minutes, best before going to sleep. 
Believe us, this one exercise will move away all your day to day stress.

I breath, watch the horizon and FEEL what it feels like without judging. Some days are harder than others... I get back up, enjoying LIFE more fully, get dressed and walk back. It takes almost an hour or so before I'm completely warm again. 
There are several reasons to WHY I do it. Health, meditation, being in nature, challenging myself, getting to know myself better.

In this class we learn basic yogic breathing techniques to help increase our vital energy levels through the extension and retention of our breath.

Practicing these techniques can help to strengthen your respiratory system and the muscles we use to aid in everyday breathing, helping to remove any bad habits we have, such as shallow breathing, mouth breathing and holding our breath.

The practice of a conscious flow of breath will help with allowing your body to naturally deep breathe into your diaphragm, helping your get a deep, healing and restful sleep, and also giving you a better chance at breathing through stressful moments of the day.

Come for our 5pm Yin class and stay for Pranayama!

Just got back from a 4-day Yoga & Ayurveda workshop for science & commerce students in Shrivardhan, Maharashtra. The response has been overwhelming to say the least. 
The youth of today are perceived as irresponsible, indolent and lethargic. While this is partly correct, what's even more important is that they are 'directionless' and 'lost' yet the desire to do something meaningful with their lives is still in place. It is the responsibility of the parents, teachers and mentors to bring them back on the correct path. 
Their hunger for knowledge and the desire to learn life's important lessons was clearly visible. Why else would a bunch of mischievous and noisy small-town students mellow down and practice yogasanas, pranayam with so much discipline? What's more, they even asked some crucial questions regarding soft skills, career opportunities and life and it's struggles in general.
The power of "Omkar" chanting in a group suddenly turned them into responsible teenagers and I could see their bright futures quite clearly. All they need is a "Guru" or a "Teacher".
Not sure if it was them who went back home enriched or it was 'me'! Vowed to do my bit to make great human beings out of kids.
