My study / mastercopy of Juan de Pareja by Diego Velázquez while I was at the @metmuseum, with a ProCreate video process. There's nothing quite like doing a mastercopy right in front of the piece, where you can dissect all the layers of paint, staring at the piece up close. No color reproduction is ever as good as seeing a painting up close.
Fun fact: I saw Velázquez's "Las Meninas" in person when I was 14 years old — I had no formal art training nor art history knowledge, but I was mesmerized and spent quite a bit of time staring at the grand painting. Velázquez was my first art love.
A finished piece !! I'm highkey really proud of this, for one because I did it fully coloured, and it turned out really great 😚
I did 90% of it over night because I couldn't fall asleep, and some leaves when I woke up 🌿
I hope everyone had a good weekend! I spent mine enjoyed lots of food and drinks and movie-watching 😁🥩🥦🍺🍻 I thought this old sketch was relevant because I’ve spent my Monday doing some chilled out work and brainstorming some ideas for my next YouTube videos 😊 I’m feeling super inspired to try some more interesting and fun things... but still working out the details 😁
I’m just hoping that I’ll still be able to get lots of drawing done in the meantime 😉
I think this calls for some chill nighttime arts! I feel like I can concentrate better when drawing at night, because there’s less distractions and I don’t feel like a recluse who needs to go out into the sun 😂 Does anyone feel the same? 🤔
I read an article today that buoyed my spirits. Basically, the gist of it is this: if you want to be happy, be thankful. This means saying thank you to the people we love. Thanking our Father in Heaven...even in trials.
It says, "We are busy people. There are mouths to feed, houses to clean, homework to do, and a thousand other material tasks that make up daily living. However, in the middle of all this we can remember what is truly important--the people around us." Dieter F. Uchtdorf said (of being grateful even during hard times), "We can choose to be grateful no matter what... "Being grateful in times of distress does not mean that we are pleased with our circumstances. It does mean that through the eyes of faith we look beyond our present-day challenges... "True gratitude is an expression of hope and testimony. It comes from acknowledging that we do not always understand the trials of life but trusting that one day we will." So, take the time to say thank you. Be grateful. And you will be happier. ❤️❤️ @ldschurch
