Battling a horrible winter cold at the moment so apologies for being a little quiet on here! Lunch break workouts have been swapped for naps and copious amounts of tea (not that I needed an excuse before). And I’m trying to keep my energy levels up for going away this weekend but don’t really have much of an appetite, so I made up this little bowl of goodness to get some macros in. Sea salt, cinnamon and cacao roasted nuts with coconut yoghurt, frozen raspberries and honey.

50g mixed nuts
2 tsp raw cacao
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp melted coconut oil
1 tsp honey
100g coconut yoghurt
Handful frozen raspberries 
Sprinkle sea salt

Pre-heat oven to 150C, coat the nuts with the honey and coconut oil then sprinkle with cinnamon, salt and cacao. Bake for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with yoghurt, raspberries and a little more honey.

You should know that no food on its own makes you gain weight 
It's the amount of calories that you consume daily, weekly and monthly (eat more calories that what you burn and you will be on a calorie surplus, what will make you store bodyfat) 
What happens with carbs is that they are very easy to overeat and won't keep you full 
On the other hand foods high in protein and fibre will keep you satisfied and are more difficult to overeat ✔ it's all about portion control with carbohydrates so here are some rules that will help you choose them wisely: 🔥 Keep them to no more than 1/4 of your plate 🔥 If you are planning to have them for dinner skip them at lunchtime (this strategy will save you 200 calories for a 1/4 plate portion) 🔥 If you are training today have them (you earned them) 🔥 If you are sedentary and will be more likely to sit down on your desk all day long keep them low 🔥 save them for the weekend as social life involves meals out and sharing food with your favourite people 🔥 on weekdays try to keep them lower if you have a sedentary job (again, this is just a strategy yo help you create a calorie deficit)
