Oh, be still my heart.
The funny thing about yesterday is that it was once today. There was a "today" where I woke up in Hawaii & smelled my first ocean breeze. I closed my eyes to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin & hear the crashing waves. But today became yesterday & a yesterday to my yesterday. It's funny how we lose faith in the moments of yesterday, as if that "today" never happened. When my most joyous moments pass, I need to be still & remember: if it happened once, it can happen again. If The Father has a good thing in my life, He can do it again. If God is who He says He is, I will be okay. I can have hope for another beautiful "Today".
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father..." James 1:17. "Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good; his love endures forever" Psalm 107:1.
There are times when it seems as if God is so far away; distant or even disconnected from us, our everyday lives and daily goings on. It becomes easy to dwell on the negatives or on what we don't have. It becomes easy to disregard Him and to try and take control back into our own hands.
But how often do we take a good look around us at all the good things He has already blessed us with? How often are we truly thankful? A hot cup of tea on a cold night. Books to read and get lost in. A comfy bed to sleep in. Good catchups with dear friends. A job that earns us money. The sound of pouring rain on the roof. Ears to hear soul-stirring music and the voices of our loved ones. Eyes to see the beauty of nature... The list could go on and on, and is unique for each of us.
When God feels far away, just stop and see all that He has lovingly given you and continues to give. And then give thanks! Closeness with Him begins with an open and grateful heart. ❤
Tragedies are commonplace..... were once "just lyrics" to a song I loved to sing, now it's a sad reality so today I'm beyond Blessed to see the age of 32! As I reflect over the past year, I can honestly say God has never failed me in spite of my NOT so perfect life!
I've learned to love hard, never take my health for granted, and live everyday as if it's my last!! I may not be rich with money but Ive truly been Blessed with the most Amazing Husband, kids, family and friends and for that I'm forever grateful!!! 3 Birthday miles down the beach ☺️
Giving thanks this morning for my wonderful family and friends. Feeling blessed as we go into this Easter weekend and start our spring break. Praying for safe travels for everyone. #feelingblessed#psalm107v1
"While there are as many reasons to be thankful as there are people in the world, one facet of life that many often forget to be #thankful for (until it's too late) is their health. We tend to take our health for granted until we're suddenly in the throes of pain or debilitating #illness ." - Dr. Mercola ================================================= "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." - Benjamin Franklin
Don't wait until it's too late.
