What to do with pumpkin seeds after carving the pumpkin?? Roast them of course!
I made roasted spicy cinnamon-honey seeds and I can’t stop munching on them! These are spicy, sweet and crispy! Yummmmm!
Swipe to see the steps I took to get them perfect!
First, I washed the seeds twice to pick out any pumpkin flesh stuck on them. Then I boiled them for 5 minutes. I drained them and set out to dry on a paper towel. After they were dry, I heated up my cast iron pan and drizzled olive oil and stir fried the seeds with spices and honey. Finished it up by putting the pan in a pre-heated oven for 40 mins.
Delicious roasted seeds are ready!

I make a mean toasted pumpkin seed, if I do say so myself. I soak them overnight in a brine solution, which I think makes the difference. In addition to being high in magnesium and zinc, they are also a good source of tryptophan, so pop a handful before bed for a good nights sleep. #pumpkinseeds#eatforyourhealth#realfoodie#dontfearsalt
First batch of pumpkin seeds roasting... we have SIX pumpkins this year (I may have slightly over did it, but I can't say no to pumpkins), so it def won't be the last batch. Anyone have any super yummy creative seed or pumpkin in general recipes (I'm sure I'm gonna max out all my usual go to's)?? Toss 'em my way 🎃

Pumpkin seeds or pepitas are packed full of nutrients.
They contain zinc which supports wound healing, immune function, supports digestion, fertility, mens health and plays a role in protein synthesis.
Pepitas also contain manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, omega 3, protein and iron making them a great vegetarian and vegan source of a wide range of nutrients.
Pumpkin seeds have a sweet-bitter flavour and can be added eaten raw or toasted (to toast add to an uncoiled pan for a couple of minutes - be careful they burn quickly!). You can add to salads, frittatas, porridge, nuts and other seed mix, eggs and stews.

The best part about any season is the food 😍 I love making roasted squash and pumpkins for dinner and I adore that a hidden snack is inside. If you're throwing out your squash seeds, you need to stop! I always take mine out, lay them out on a baking sheet and season them with any spices. No oil needed 👌🏻 Bake them for about 20 minutes and you've got a snack or salad topper just like that ☺️ Full of folate, protein, zinc, vitamin A and great for the prostate too 😉 Please never throw out your seeds! 🎃🌿🍁
•More Pumpkins• 👉🏻So, here we have it, zero waste from this little fella. We all get to enjoy Mr Happy Pumpkin Face until he reaches his peak (then he's going to the pigs at the farm!) but we also made the most of every other part of him. His seeds have been roasted and are totally addictive, his pulp will be made into pumpkin soup and the harder parts have been roasted and already eaten. Lots of fun, zero waste. I can't emphasise enough how sad it is that every year 18,000 tonnes of pumpkins go to landfill. A totally, unnecessary waste of food that also happens to be SO GOOD FOR YOU! #zerowaste
