Online Christmas shopping today. Lord, be with me & my credit card. 🙈💁 It might only be October, but I like to get my holiday shopping done as soon as possible so that we are able to ENJOY the holiday season. 🎄 When do you start your shopping? Also, any tips or tricks you use throughout the year to save so that Christmas isn't a financial burden? 💰 We put $100 from every paycheck into a "Holidays and Special Occassions" fund to spend on birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and just because gifts throughout the year. Works SO well for us! 👍 .
Shopped, explored, watched the sun rise, drank cocktails, made pasta, and collectively took upwards of 1,000 photos. Can my sister visit every week? ✨ Find more peeks of our adventures from LJ’s perspective: @sieandexplaur
Can't complain about this view ☺️👌🏼🌊☀️🌴🌺❤️✌🏼 We had the absolute BEST first day on this beautiful island in the middle of the Indian Ocean 🇲🇺
What a perfect getaway 👫❤️
Beach is forever my happy place especially when it's this idyllic 😍
Take two. Because of a misspell in the last one (last post) I had the privilege of painting it again 😱 I guess I really needed this verse! But the good news is I think I like this one better. Also would anyone like the original with the archaic version of "stedfast" in it?
And for fun I did a time lapse of the lettering at the end. It's always interesting to watch the progression, at least I think so! Swipe left to see the final.
LONDON | Stopped by the Natural History Museum on Friday to check out opening day of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit, but ended up getting distracted by the dinosaurs and this whale skeleton. ☠

I was incapable of comprehending the impact he would have on my life in the years to come when attending his papal audience in Rome fourteen years ago. Like so many others, his life, writings & profound understanding of the human person has enabled me to have a deeper knowledge & appreciation for the Church, what it means to truly love, and the theology of the body. What a beautiful gift+example his life was to us all.
Happy Feast Day, Saint John Paul II, our beloved Polish Papa! Totus Tuus, Ave Maria! -
“None can sense more deeply than you artists, ingenious creators of beauty that you are, something of the pathos with which God at the dawn of creation looked upon the work of his hands. A glimmer of that feeling has shone so often in your eyes when—like the artists of every age—captivated by the hidden power of sounds and words, colours and shapes, you have admired the work of your inspiration, sensing in it some echo of the mystery of creation with which God, the sole creator of all things, has wished in some way to associate you.
Every genuine art form in its own way is a path to the inmost reality of man and of the world. It is therefore a wholly valid approach to the realm of faith, which gives human experience its ultimate meaning. That is why the Gospel fullness of truth was bound from the beginning to stir the interest of artists, who by their very nature are alert to every “epiphany” of the inner beauty of things.
Artists of the world, may your many different paths all lead to that infinite Ocean of beauty where wonder becomes awe, exhilaration, unspeakable joy.”
[faves from his Letter to Artists, 1999]
Our office view...three months ago. ⠀
Right now our window is filled with raindrops and grey skies.⠀
We don't mind the rain, especially when our heads are down and too focused on some pretties coming soon to The Mint Sweater. ⠀
Right now we just finished cleaning out our entire office for a photoshoot this week. ⠀
BUT...we can't wait to snuggle up next to this window with hot cocoa in our hands this winter...wait was that a clue?⠀
You'll have to wait to find out! ⠀
Happy Sunday friends.
"You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps you - your coffee spills everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? "Well because someone bumped into me, of course!" You actually spilled the coffee because that's what was in your cup. If tea had been in it, you would have spilled tea. Whatever is inside the cup is what will come out.
Therefore, when life comes along and bumps you, whatever is inside will come out.
Let's ask ourselves....what's in my cup? When life gets tough, what spills over?
Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? Or anger, bitterness, harsh words and actions?
You get to choose what you put inside your cup of life.
Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation to yourself and others, kindness, gentleness, and love ❤️" -unknown
Love people. That is all... but everything is in that. There’s a quote by Mother Teresa, “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” If you want to change the world, love starts here, love starts now, love starts with the people you interact with on a regular basis. It starts with the lonely old woman who lives at the end of your street and the depressed teenage boy who goes to your church and the young couple who is struggling to get pregnant. Love them. Love them all, without stopping to see if they deserve it.
There couldn't be anything more true than this quote from Seth Godin. The other day, I sat down with a lovely woman whose passion is helping and serving parents and parent educators. Instantly, I saw the parallels in our stories and our values. She studied psychology in college. She took risks in love and life at an early age. Organic growth and loyal clients are more important to her than gaining 10,000 followers overnight. She said to me: "Yeah, my brand also seems like an autumn personality." Needless to say, we were instantly BFFs. ❤️ I felt her enthusiasm, rawness and compassionate heart from the moment I began talking to her
Regardless of our age difference and the fact I only knew her for 2 hours, I felt a fierce sense of connection. Business owners don't book people like me because they "just need some social media copywriting" - they book me because they need a confidant their brand can trust, someone who believes in their brand and the future of it. Similarly, we use the same emotions to evoke a connection in their clients/customers.
How do you ensure that your marketing sells a lifestyle, a purpose, a resolution?

I keep popping into my favorite bookstore @verbtim.books in search of inspiration and references for my secret #nanowrimo project. Right now I'm trying to take my little idea and form it into an outline that will hopefully guide me through November. TL;DR: I'm going to write a book in 30 days.
We went to a wedding this weekend. Weddings use to be really hard on me not even too long ago.
They are getting easier though. There are things I feel time heals. I also feel there are things that aren’t necessarily healed by time but instead you grow over time.
These things are the tougher things in life that you learn become stronger through. Do you agree?
Do you know @hopscotchcakes ? Not only do they make unbelievably beautiful baked goods, but they recently opened a retail location that is gorgeously curated. And they can put together a mean flatlay!
You can find out mag in their shop too. But if nothing else, you have to follow them as they are super talented artisans.
My routine has been off to say the least, since Theodore was born. My quiet time some days is anything but quiet. But this morning I decided to push through tiredness and get up at 6 when the baby woke. My reward was a quiet hour of prayer and reading, continuing in my study of Ephesians I'm doing with a group of ladies at church. My study today took me to psalm 90, and I read this verse. It captured me with its beauty, and reminder for my morning. Let me be satisfied in His steadfast love- a love that never changes. Carrying this truth through the day, into the tired afternoon (I'm feeling it now) and well into the night. How beautiful to be reminded of this. Edit: also my gracious friend let me know steadfast is the right spelling. 😱 I will be correcting...after a nap.😂 thank you sweet friend.
We were studying the 5th chapter of Daniel today during our service when it lead to this verse from Matthew and the question from our pastor of “What are you known for? When people meet for coffee and they bring your name up- what are they saying?! Are they talking about how you are someone who is dependable and trustworthy? Are they saying you’re a good friend? Furthermore, (and most importantly) are they saying you’re a Christian who they know they can come to for Godly advice? Are you someone who they know will walk in faith through the trenches with, while also standing on the mountains when our Lord provides?”
Oh boy, y’all. That shook me. We aren’t perfect people, but what I’m learning is that we are even farther from being perfect Christians. This world makes us want to be good people to others, but do we focus on being good Christians for others? Christ like people to people? Are we focusing on our faith before our personal wants- even if they’re just personality wants (being kind, happy, friendly)? Are we the person someone knows they can call on because they know you know God?
I am so grateful to have these lessons that bring me back to the ground each week and make me rethink of who I am as a person and friend.
Little treasures I’ve been keeping on my desk lately because they make me smile. 🥀✨ Fancy tealight by @margaritabloom, adorable little unicorn ring holder my husband bought me from @bloomnewark, and my witchy bubble bath pin from @punkypins 🖤🛁🎀💜
