Are you guys excited for Paige’s WWE return? Honestly sooo excited for her return it feels like forever since i’ve seen her on TV. Since total divas and her past mistakes has really messed her career up big time it’s good seeing her come back from scratch, not to mention many rumors say she is going to Smackdown Live! The hype is real and i can’t wait to see what she can bring to the table ever since she left.
I'll be the first to say I don't care for Patrick Clark. But the Velveteen Dream is growing on me (never thought I would say that)
It's not really the ring abilities but it's the character work. (In kayfabe) If Dream was looking to make a name for himself and prove himself then why wouldn't he go for Black?
Besides Adam Cole and Drew, Black is the biggest star NXT has right now.
But of course we all know Dream can't hang with Black in the ring so what's his strategy? Mind games.
We don't know if the character of Dream is gay or not but we do know that he can manipulate that unknown to make basic confrontations into very awkward meetings. So he might just be emphasizing his sexuality as a tactic or it may just be his personality.
But seriously how do you intimidate a man like Aleister who nothing seems to faze?
Dream's idea was to get right in his face and get closer than anyone has gotten to Black yet. Dream showed no fear. Which is something that no one has really showed yet when they are face to face with Black. Dream knows he can't win physically but if he gets in Black's head maybe he can faze him just enough to pick up the win. I'm enjoying the depth that is being brought to a character that I originally thought was cheap and shallow and I'm excited to see more.
Alundra Blayze/Madusa, WCW Monday Nitro, December 1995.
One of THE iconic moments of the Monday Night Wars saw Madusa turning up unannounced on WCW Monday Nitro, after two years atop the WWF's Women's division, and dumping the WWF Women's Championship Jorts™ in the trash. Before finding his footing, Vince McMahon tried and failed over & over again, with gimmick after gimmick to try and claw back ratings, to no avail. Here again we got another example of Vinny Mac trying to force Jorts™ into the main event before the world was ready. He subtly switched out the Women's Championship belt for a pair of Jorts™, which went unnoticed for some time! In late 1995, while cutting what was to be her last promo in WWF for more than 20 years, Blayze finally noticed that the title she had been carrying around with her for so long WASN'T the white leather belt she thought it was, but a new pair of Jorts™; so new, fresh, stiff, that it had been difficult to tell the difference between the unforgiving denim and the tough leather she had grown used to.
In a rage, she left the arena the moment filming finished, and showed up in Nitro the very next week, ceremoniously dumping Vince's Women's Championship Jorts™ in the trash, while Eric Bischoff and Co. looked on, stunned. Bischoff famously tried his hardest to make Madusa, as she was now (and once again) to be known, keep the Jorts™ out of the trash as he felt that the competitions titles were deserving of the utmost respect, but to no avail. This event marks the first, and thankfully ONLY time, a pair of Jorts™ have been thrown in the trash on live television.
Nevilles entire career was rejuvenated with the King of the Cruiserweights gimmick and being put in the division. He fit the mold so perfectly and has carried the entire division all year long. Having him refer to the title as his crown made the belt seem important in my eyes and really, he's the reason most people cared about the division. On top of it, he put on some banger matches with the divisions finest. Between the feud with Aries and the unspoken series with Ali, Neville fucking kills it every match and carries the purple ropes division. Granted, we're going to see really how good he is when he carries Enzo Amore at No Mercy.
