Um, yeah. The difference between Young Living and the other brands? POTENCY.
Can I be real with y'all for a minute? I always said "NEVER Young Living." (Aaah the shame!) I had done my research and knew my oils were fine. Where those Young Living peeps always lost me was when they said they had the only "pure" oils. Well I had tested mine and watched online tests and read GC/MS reports and was sure my oils were pure so was gonna save a pretty penny and buy from my tinier company.
Until I learned about how oils are distilled. There's such a thing as a FIRST distill and a COMPLETE distill. A complete distill will run a plant through for hours to get every last drop. Sounds good, right? Wrong! A FIRST distill takes the oil that jumps out within the early stages of the distillation process, which makes THAT oil the most volatile, therapeutic, concentrated form of the essential oil. This is where Young Living STOPS and bottles only the best. Other companies continue to distill their plants to produce more oil they can sell it at a cheaper price, albeit a lesser quality. Even if you have a "pure" oil, it will take more of that oil to have near the same effect as one drop of Young Living oil.
I noticed the difference by accident recently. I'm surviving this scorching weather by applying a drop of Peppermint to the back of my neck to get a cooling sensation. I'm almost out of my YL pep, so to stretch it I reached for my old brand (gasp! NO!). It took FOUR drops to feel.....nothing. Zip. Nada. And it smelled like a candy cane (tip: if your pep oil smells commercially-sweet or candy-like, you most likely have a complete distill oil. Complete distill pulls out the smells that perfumers make us most familiar with.)
So I pulled out my YL Peppermint. One drop and BAM. Nice and tingly and refreshing. I even breathed a little clearer (so nice to be able to do, this time of year). I stayed nice and comfortable during a car ride in 86 degree weather with NO AC.
So, yeah. Young Living quality for the win. 👊
Cover for my Yellowstone National Park Assistant Food Production Manager recipe book from 1995-1996 for the Old Faithful Inn! Love the quote! Very true! #quality#foodship#ynpemployees#yellowstonenationalpark there are some goodies in this book for sure! Everything was made from scratch for all the restaurants in the park back then. Definitely not a book you wanted to loose!!!!!
