It struck me today, Rosalind Russell was the first person to teach me Acting Homework.
As a kid, I watched Old Hollywood films in the evening with my family.
A special memory of mine sits with the film, "Aunty Mame"
I was Patrick's age from the film at the time. When Patrick asked Mame, "What's Libido, Aunty Mame?" Rosalind Russel's character, Mame replied, "Well, it's perfectly simple my darling its- Well, I...I'll tell you what we're going to do. Every time you hear a word you don't understand dear, you take this pad and pencil and write it down. Later on, Aunty Mame will explain it to you"
I've been doing that very thing ever since and it's the first thing that happens whenever I read a script. The first time I write down a new word, I get this memory...it's a feeling of love and closeness with my family. I don't think of the full memory each time, but the essence of how I felt returns to me...that soft love that exists in the company of your family when all is right in the world.
A cool night with a warm spring breeze and a sunset glow on the horizon. I was warm snuggled close to my mum, with pop's bright blue eyes and Akubra hat sitting nearby and my grandma immitating how fabulous she is. Dinner is cooking, I can smell it: steak, potato and peas. The lid is bubbling a little on the pot. Pop is watching the stove and the film as well. I have just showered and my hair is still wet, my school bag in in the corner of the room. My dog is sitting under my feet. I am wearing lilac pajamas with dalmatians on them and all of the windows and doors are open and I can hear cicadas humming. Nana pauses a moment as says, "Listen to those cicadas! Tomorrow's gonna be a hot one!" Now, my face almost always looks like Patrick's in this picture when I begin and Google is my knowledge base instead of, Mame. But most wonderful of all, every time I begin this work, it feels like coming home.

How many tears does it take to go numb? How many tears need to be forced out to be sane again... or... would that make me insane to even question it?
What is that invisible wall called? I want to know. Is it worth the scream? Is the scream going to bounce back from that invisible wall and defeat me, or is it going to shatter the wall and let me feel the world? -YF
Every significant discovery starts with a question, a thoughtful one. If you do not question anything then you have accepted everything at it is, and that's a disastrous situation.
Every advance in science, technology and business, starts with a question. Every ground breaking innovation and every revolutionary idea starts with a challenging question.
Questions provoke thought. Questions challenge the norm. Questions lead to new realities. Question everything.
