Two of my favorite times of the day are 1. In the morning when I can sit down for 5 mins and just eat breakfast and 2. At night when at the gym and I know I'm almost done for the day lol #busybee#justwaitforkids#quiettime
This is a sweet note I received from a woman of God led into this Bible study workbook ... "I am 61 yrs old and have been a Christian most of my life, but I love, love, LOVE and I am blown away by your 'Delight to be a Woman of God.'
"I have been longing for--and now I really know that to achieve a deeper intimate relationship, it is about spending time in the Word. "Lately everywhere I turn they are talking about how a deeper, closer walk comes through studying the Bible. I admit I go long periods of not spending real quality time on a daily basis. I talk and sing to God constantly, but now I understand that's not enough. I've struggled with hearing His voice. Now I'm learning it's a process--you practice, you look for it every day. "I feel like God is personally persuing me, calling me with an open invitation to the more intimate relationship I've always longed for. "You speak my church's language. We are all about Kingdom Culture and values. No accident I came across your amazing book. Thank you! God bless." - Debbie S
“Confusion leads to understanding when an afflicted heart turns to a peace-giving God.” I wrote this down in my journal this morning because I believe that my confusion can be solved through His word and instruction. Truthfully, sometimes I reallyyyyy don’t know what I’m doing. I’m a photographer, personal trainer, church volunteer, student, hospital volunteer, and probably a few other things. I have a lot on my plate to be honest. And sometimes I’m so afflicted because I don’t know what my heart wants most. Psalm 119 is full of affliction. People are crying out to God, begging Him to draw near. But Psalm 119 is also full of a strange peace. How is that possible? Affliction and peace?? At the same time?? One verse says “Abundant peace belongs to those who love your instruction.” Maybe you’re reading this and you’re confused about something today. Maybe you’re afflicted or experiencing trials. But the good news is that PEACE is YOURS when you’re in His instruction. A life is best lived when it’s living according to His word. No other joy will compare to a life like that. So I may be unsure, I may feel stuck, maybe even frustrated. But the answer to my problems isn’t that hard to find. If I’m living a life striving to be closer to Him, then peace is mine and with peace comes understanding. What more could I ask for. *
I will be praying this every day before my quiet time with Jesus. Do we come to His Throne of grace expecting to be transformed?
“I believe with all my heart that the divine Shepherd seeks daily to lead His sheep to the ‘still waters’ of His Word, and how sad it is that so many Christians prefer to drink from the polluted pools of the world... God has given us infinite resources through prayer and the reading of the Scriptures. They are ours for the asking and the taking. The quiet time creates an island of quiet within us, and that becomes the atmosphere of the day.” ~ Selwyn Hughes
One of my goals for 2018 is to collect all of The Daily Grace Co Bible Studies. Just kidding. Well, actually... I wanted to share with you how I use these little devotional study books.
During my daily quiet time, I read the text for the day (indicated in the book), then I highlight and write down one of the verses that stood out to me. After that, I read the devotional and mark it up with a Sharpie pen as I go. I just make circles, squiggly lines, boxes, and clouds over words that I find significant. That's pretty much it!
I consider this a light study that I enjoy doing during my quiet time since I don't always have time to go very much in depth on a daily basis. My plan is to do a deeper study of the same book at a later date. I recently finished the Hebrews study and it was a really great intro to the book. I look forward to studying Hebrews more in depth in the future.
Check out these Bible Studies by googling The Daily Grace Co.
I love the book of Acts. The example laid before us of the early church. And an amazing example they were, as they had no point of reference to pattern after.
Acts 2:42 says this, “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and fellowship, and sharing in meals (including the Lords supper), and prayer.” There are four primary characteristics of the early church believers:
1.) They grew in knowledge by attending to the apostles teaching. To those in the new church this teaching was so fresh and strange… things that are so “common place” to us by familiarity, like: Christ’s birth, His good deeds, His love and grace, His gentleness. Even at this time, these were some things the apostles were just beginning to understand themselves.
And so we need to ask ourselves the question, “Does this desire of fuller Christian knowledge at all mark my Christian character, and does it practically influence my Christian conduct and life?”
2.) They maintained fellowship. Togetherness. Force of community. Driven to one another. Protective. Individually weak, but communicatively strong! These were the believers in the day of Acts. Somehow they understood the deep need for human closeness.
3.) They broke bread together. This included the Lord supper and common meal. According to my commentary, “The domestic and the devout were so closely braided together that when a household sat at a table, it was both of family and a church. And while they were eating their meat for strength of their body, they were partaking of the memorial of their dying Lord.” So the question becomes, “Is my house like that?” Are the dying words of our master, “Do this in remembrance of Me” written over everything that we do? Because in doing so, all of life is worship to God!
4.) They were committed to steadfast prayer. This was the evidence their life had been changed by the influence of the Holy Spirit. My commentary says, “A genuine revival will be always followed by love of prayer.” Do this... ALL of this.. in remembrance of Me!
Today while on Etsy editing my shop listings, I caught myself thinking about the reason I created my shop in the first place.
Was it for money? Honestly no. Was it for approval or praise? Nope.
The following extract is taken from my Etsy page and I wrote it when I first created the shop 2 years ago, “GraceTheLabel’s mission is to build people up with words of faith, hope and love. This Etsy was set up as a way to point people to Jesus and His love for us. GraceTheLabel also utilises its Instagram page to reach out to people and share His truths! I enjoy sharing my creations along with words of truth to encourage you on this journey of life, we are all in this together and honestly it’s so much more fun when we have people to journey alongside with.” I created the shop as a platform for me to share what God was doing in my life and what He was showing me in the current season that I’m in, and hopefully to encourage you and speak a word of season into your life. Stumbling upon it just now was a pleasant surprise, I felt the dread and anxiety that unknowingly came along with having to upkeep the shop begin to melt away as I was reminded of the reason I started this project in the first place.
I feel like in our lives, we pursue many things, and when we do, yeah its fun and all at first but after awhile, the novelty of it dies down, what we are left with is not even what our good intentions had in mind. We begin to get sidetracked and our focus shifts away from the purpose and reason that made us begin in the first place. I’m sure some of you can relate, perhaps for you it could be the new job which you spent the last year or so applying and upskilling yourself for, but now that you got what you thought you wanted, monotony sets in and steals the joy from what was meant to be your dream job.
I want to encourage you today, and remind you that you are not alone, we all face such difficulties, myself included. Perhaps it’s not that there is something wrong with you or even your job. Maybe the reason why you are feeling stressed, anxious, tired, angry, irritable, is that your focus is misplaced. (Continued in comments)
Repost: @concealerandaprayerlife Sometimes we pray and ask for our situations to change, for people to change, but there comes a certain point in prayer where you come out changed, it could be a change of heart, a change of perspective a lot of times He wants to change our response, prayer is a lifeline, the deeper our relationship the more open and honest we can be,not only with our Beloved one but with ourselves because He loves us to much to let us remain the same. My hope is that with all that you may have going on that you find time today to talk with Him 💕 #restoringhope#repairyourprayerlife#prayers#concealerandaprayerlife#motherhood#momlife#prayerlife#quiettime#changeisgood

The world is filled with all kinds of false hope. We trust governments, doctors, and our own strength to care, help, protect, and provide. -----
And while God does work through those things sometimes, our ultimate and only true hope is in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. -----
Hope in His love. Wait for His help. Trust in His holy name.
3 kids. 2 cats. 1 dog. Lots of clients. Projects in every direction. Too much laundry to admit right now. And you know, I love it all. But I also really, really love this, y’all. #writerscorner#metime I hope you’ll carve out some quiet time for yourself this week. Even if it’s just sitting an extra 10 minutes in the parking lot before you walk into the store (yep, done that one ... “mommy just has to pick up some milk” 😉). Collect your thoughts, just breathe, pray, write some gratitudes ... whatever you need. The rest can wait, because you’ll serve them all much better if you’ve grounded yourself first. ❤️☮️ #saythegood#wednesdaywords
