It came to me early this morning. As if this gift from @caitlinpolden weren’t enough of an enchantment, I realized how amazingly similar it is to my tattoo. If you swipe you will see a picture of it. (I’m sorry if you don’t like tattoos.) This is the only tattoo I have, besides the little dots they placed all over me to mark me for radiation. I was compelled to get it a number of years ago after my second round with breast cancer. I went to the tattoo artist with no visual. All I told her is that I wanted to visually express what I felt, which was that my cup runneth over. I was so grateful to be alive and to have such a wonderful family. Every day my heart was bursting. And my motto was “La Dolce Vita”, the sweet life. Caitlin, my cup is still full. And I am still trying to stay perched right in the center of the sweet life. Your gift is all of that, and more! 💗
It is hard to find time to do anything extra between family life, house chores and many other responsibilities in life. That is why it is such a treat to me to snuggly sit on the couch binding my quilt while watching my favorite show I recorded. Ahh... I ❤"me time". What do you do when you have one hour for "me time"?
I can reveal this secret project at last ... #miniquilt made for a challenge organized by the Swiss section of France Patchwork. Inspired by Paul Klee paintings. I mostly used #painterscanvas and #modagrunge fabric collections. All details of the challenge on the blog !

There are three quilts in the Autumn collection. Every quilt has two sides: patterned and solid one and tessels as a bind the same color as solid side🍂 В Осенней коллекции три одеяла, у каждого по две стороны: разноцветная и однотонная, и еще кисточки по всему одеялу в тон одной из сторон🍂совсем скоро будут доступны онлайн☺️
Some days you just need to snuggle up under a quilt and read a good book. This is quite a special quilt, too. I watched my sweet friend work on this quilt never knowing that it was for me! It was her gift to me after my surgery. One of the most heartfelt gifts I’ve ever received. #ifshesewssheknows#quilt#amreading#bookworm
"War and Pieced: The Annette Gero Collection of Quilts from Military Fabrics" is currently on view at the @afamuseum in New York City. In collaboration with International Quilt Study Center & Museum at the University of Lincoln, Nebraska, this exhibition offers a unique insight on Soldier's Quilts, which were "spectacularly complex geometric quilts made exclusively by men using richly dyed wools derived from British military and dress uniforms."
This particular Soldier's Quilt is made of wool, probably from military uniforms, with embroidery thread, rickrack, and velvet binding; inlaid; layer-appliquéd and hand-embroidered (c. 1850-1880). Image by Gavin Ashworth, for American Folk Art Museum.
