Hey @sydneyrosedesigns and @sarahashfordstudio I'm Charlie & here's my introduction for the #GreatBritishQuilter challenge! When I moved away from home in 99' to sunny Colorado, I was homesick and decided to teach myself a new hobby....sewing. I bought my first of many sewing machines and made a photo memory quilt for my parents for Xmas that year. I've been hooked ever since....many moons later I have added to my skill set, taken some classes here and there and dabbled in all things quilty....I enjoy sewing for myself, for @blendfabrics and for my friends. I have amassed quite a collection of fabrics in my sewing room (mostly from going to Quilt Market) and love to look at them in all their delicious splendor and hope to make many pretty things with them over the coming years.
I'm first generation American to British born parents and am an avid tea drinker and lover of Masterpiece Theatre 😜 I love to travel and gain inspiration from beautiful places and other cultures. I am also a lover of scuba diving, photography and film.
I hope to learn and grow...and to make as many quilts, bags, garments etc as I can! I'm also looking forward to meeting more Quilty friends and the inspiration they share! #quilting 🇬🇧#quiltersofinstagram#quiltersareawesome
Ran across some old Dresden plates today. And when I say old, I mean old. I remember creating these for my third quilt. I was in seventh grade and had already finished all the required home-ec projects. I wanted to move beyond the black, red, and yellow polyester lap quilt I had just finished. After a trip to the Mervyns' fabric department and TG&Y, I carefully cut a petal template from sand paper and traced then cut all the petals. The petals were sewn together on Kenmore my sewing machine. The school year ended and the fabric plates were stored away. They were pulled out at some point in the 80s and a couple were appliquéd to some pretty awful white fabric then they were all orphaned again. So here they are and I need to get this quilt finished before the fabrics celebrate their fiftieth. 🎂Any suggestions? Plain white fabric is just not what these need to bring them alive. #fabric#seventies#seventiesstyle#quilt#quilting#quilterliveshere#quiltersareawesome#quiltersofinstagram#quilters
Åh, sådan härlig post som jag fick idag!
Tack @glindaquilts för fina ord på kortet och den generösa mängd "scraps" som du skickat mig!😘😘😘 Thanks Dear Jen!
That's a very generous gift you sent!!!
I would not called some of the Fq's scraps, but THANK YOU anyway! 😆😉😘😘😘😘
Sorry, if you view Instagram on your iPhone/Samsung this won't work!!
I found it in my late mother's quilting books. It has got a copywrite but I can only read the first name Judy P... 1990??
MrD says it is very true. He doesn't understand the quilting language. I did try several google searches to no avail.
It's been wonderful looking at my late mother's quilting files that I didn't know existed. I can see the inspiration of so many of her quilts from postcards, magazine cutouts, classes she attended etc. I found the pattern she used for our Christmas stockings and a fabric tree she had made. Quilts she started and given to family members. Tomorrow I'll be doing a fabric sort. #lovemymothersinspiration#quiltersareawesome#quiltersofinstagram#quiltersrock#quiltersofawesome#quiltersdream#quiltersbeware#quiltersfevercontagious#quilterslife
Had a little scare in the ER yesterday.
Despite being at my version of the happiest place on earth (a fabric store) my heart suddenly went into a SVT rhythm, they corrected it in the ambulance, had me checked out at the ER and sent me home with orders to rest. My dear friend @formomcrochet brought me the most awesome care package today!!! Lots of healthy and superyummyliscious goodies, and to top it off a new quilted bag pattern to drool over! The most complete care package I could imagine!!! And, she signed me up for a class to make the bag in a fun environment! How thoughtful and kind was that? She is a wonderful kind friend and sister 😆. Quilters are the most awesome people I know! 😄 #quiltingbesties#carepackage#yummyfood#yummy#quiltersareawesome#superyummylicious#quiltedbag

The location and name of the maker should be clear and easy to read. Completed blocks can be mailed to Charleston Modern Quilt Guild, PO Box 723, Sullivans Island, SC 29482. Requested deadline for receipt of blocks is August 1. We thank all of you in advance for your help in making this quilt happen!
Thank you SO MUCH @icajb78 for the giveaway!! If these are your "scraps" I think I just want to live in your fabric stash. Haha. 😍😍 you are awesome!! I have major plans for these goodies!! Thanks for throwing in the squirrels, raccoons, and octopus!!!! 😃👍 #quiltersareawesome#luckygirl
I just had to give myself a sneak peek! This is exactly what I had in mind, thank you!
If you're still making, yellow would be great! Please send by March 20. If you haven't heard from me, email or dm me. I feel like I'm caught up, but some might have been missed.
And, I've been given lots of 6.5" squares, so if applique isn't your thing, just sending the flowers is perfect. 💕👏💐
Holy moly! I've never seen the line this long to get into the Rusty Barn show in Phoenix. Looks like it will be a good one! #quiltshowgypsy#quiltersareawesome @elkhornquiltcompany I hope you have a crazy busy day!
