Had a amazing weekend completing our first shop hop! We did 8 shops on Saturday alone! It was great to visit a whole bunch of shops that are new to us and make some new friends along the way. Check out all our loot! So many new projects to start on. #ctquiltshophop#HSQ#menwhoquilt#quilting#quilts
Couldn't be more honored and proud. My parents put so much love and time into our wedding ring quilt. All the paper pieced geese and rings and appliquéd flowers and lastly the work put into the long arm quilting. You CAN NOT put a price on this much love. #quilting#love#lucky
This is the beginning of my latest project. My friend is having a baby that she will be naming Ariel and wanted a baby quilt with a mermaid. I thought I'd try it out! #quilting#newtechniques#experimenting #❤️mylife
This may come as a shock to some of you...but I'm a pretty hardcore Harry Potter fan 😜⚡️🤓 And as a HP fan, I've collected a great many Harry Potter themed items-perhaps too much now, because I had enough to fill up an entire bookshelf and two of my bedroom walls with HP accoutrements (it may or may not look like a shrine...) So this summer, I had the special privilege of doing something I've been wanting to do for years now, which is to make a t-shirt quilt of all my old Harry Potter t-shirts!
With the amazing guidance and tutelage of the esteemed Pat Conrad and her phenomenal quilting skills, we have successfully completed my dream! Bask is the glory of my beautiful Harry Potter quilt!! Now I need to start collecting more shirts for the next quilt project....😇😆#harrypotter#jkrowling#quilting
Our first "commissioned" quilt!
Nik's cousin requested that we create a quilt for her friend's first child. She wanted a modern block pattern. Here is our own original pattern, sewn in Hello, My Deer by Camelot Fabrics and quilted with vines and leaves on our embroidery unit. We even included a hand written embroidered message on the tag from her new favorite aunt! #HSQ#menwhoquilt#quilts#quilting
Ok friends, I need your help! Curved piecing tips please!! I have just cut over 200 pieces and 80% of this quilt is piecing curves, which I have never done before! Thinking I may have bitten more off than I can chew 😬. Let me know your best tips 🙏. Which way do you press? Do you clip your seam allowance to help it lay flat?? 🤷🏻♀️
❣️My mom made and gave my fiance and I this beautiful king size double ring quilt as a wedding gift! 👰🏼🤴🏼Overwhelmed by all the time 🕐and love ♥️she put into to making and surprising us with it and how amazing it is! 💕
A small sampling of the blocks I’ve done and how all the colors work together. I’ve learned from this quilt that you can’t let a scrappy block stand by itself. You have to put them together to see how they work. Individually, I wasn’t a HUGE fan of how block 13 turned out. I wasn’t sure if it was going to work with the other blocks. But I put it with some of the others, and boom! Magic. #beginnerquilter#quilting#learnsomethingneweveryday
Patrick's first fully finished quilt!
I made this quilt for my Aunt & Uncle as a thank you for all the years they've invited me (and now Nik) down to their beach house in Delaware. When I came across this fabric line (Tide Pool by Kate Nelligan for Moda) I instantly thought of all my summer vacations to the beach. Pattern is Summer at the Beach by England Street Quilts and I quilted it with edge to edge sea shells using our embroidery unit. #HSQ#menwhoquilt#quilts#quilting
Nik made this quilt for his mom for Christmas last year. The pattern is called Feed Sacks by Kim Brackett and we picked out the colors based on his mom's favorite jacket. #HSQ#menwhoquilt#quilting#quilts
For the last two weeks almost I have been on an incredible trip to Italy for my anniversary. And I noticed so many amazing mosaic floors! I felt like I was the only tourist taking pictures of the floors, but as a quilter I noticed all these patterns (so many!). Most of these were in Pompeii! 2000 years old!
This is Patrick's first pieced quilt top. I don't remember the name of the pattern, but it was made by cutting out triangles from 2.5" strip sets. Unfortunately it's still a UFO, but is on the top of my list to get back to! Keep an eye out for the finished product! #HSQ#menwhoquilt#quilts#quilting
