🗣please stop romanticizing mental illness!🗣 // this is an excerpt from a poem that I wrote about my own experiences with mental illness, & how I hate that others have tried to paint something that makes me feel so devoid into an admirable or “strong” thing. it isn’t poetic. it just isn’t.
here's a little sad flower and half a line from a Frank Turner song that I listen to every time I'm in an airport because it's called "jet lag" and also because I love to suffer
"There is telepathy between hearts." .
Telepathic: the ability to transmit information from one mind to another. In this case, from one heart to another. .
The heart generates the largest electromagnetic field in the body. .
The electrical field of the heart has been scientifically measured at about 60x greater than the brain waves. .
Before science, this measurement was already known. And experimented with. Yoga, TCM, Qigong, Native Americans knew it, people felt it...etc. .
But we like science. To give a bit of scientific proof to what is felt. .
The electromagnetic field of the heart has been measured up to 1.5 meters outside of the body. .
Who am I surrounding myself with? What messages are being received by my heart? What is my heart delivering to anyone 1.5 meters around me? .
I love pondering these questions...
What is something that helps you shine? I shine the most when I can be creative and have fun.
When we're exiting our comfort zone, it's like walking through a dark tunnel because our hearts will race a million miles an hour since there are so many unknowns. *
It's not until we see a speck of light creeping through the darkness that we'll experience relief, but we'll also realize that the darkness wasn't so scary after all. *
In the middle of a tumultuous situation, we'll usually focus on one thing: the tumultuous situation. *
Because we can only see the situation before us, it's difficult to recognize what's beyond it. *
Although difficult to see, there's something amazing on the other end of this storm: personal growth. We understand that the storm is scary, but we're shaped by the way we handle these difficult moments. *
Before you go, remember that your story doesn't end in the face of a challenge; your story is just beginning. Oh yeah, don't forget to tag someone who may need this reminder.
📖Ps 34:18📖 We are not promised zero troubles, in verse 19, David says the righteous may have many troubles. Do not despair, ask and you shall receive. Be aware though that what we ask might not be what’s ultimately best for our lives so it may be withheld. Trust, pray, and have faith. Confide in someone.
As we know, life is a challenge and no easy breeze.
It requires dedication, perseverance and focus to achieve our goals and to reach our aspirations.
Just like how a pearl starts off as a grain of grit, accomplishments start with hardship.
Stay motivated! You'll get there! .
"On a final note all I can say is don't second guess this retreat. I know I am lucky to now call all the ladies I met my friends. Go with an open heart and let every second of the trip soak into you, as it will forever be with you. " - Ola via Trip Advisor
