The work we do on ourselves is our greatest gift to the entire planet, which is precisely why we sit in ceremony every day.
The cacao spirit works with us to open our hearts and FEEL our intimate connection to all that is. Graciously, she also shows us any of our "stuff" that is in the way of that connection.
Simply put, the more we grow the better life on Earth gets, for all beings involved, which puts a new spin on working through our own stuff.
It's bigger than us. So if your having a hard time diving into your own "work," try thinking of it as your greatest act of service to Mother Earth and all of her inhabitants.
Because it is. So THANK YOU on behalf of all of us. ❤️
I'm a chocolate 🍫 freak. But also a chocolate snob. It's has to be REAL chocolate. Yes I've got expensive taste 😜. A few years ago I discovered chocolate avocado 🥑 pudding 😋. Today I whipped up a batch. Mmmmmm. I used 2 large ripe avocados, 1/2 cup of canned full fat coconut milk , 5 tablespoons of real maple 🍁 syrup and about a tap of real vanilla. ( don't spill any, that stuff is like gold now! 😳$) then I added in 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder and a scoop of raw organic cacao powder for a richer taste. It's up to you if you want the protein powder or not. Blend and enjoy! #healthyhome#healthylifestyle#avocado#coconutmilk#chocolate#rawcacao#healthysnack#healthydessert
NO BAKE BROWNIES 🍫 5 ingredients, 30 minute prep time and only 120 calories! Perfect for weekends getaways:
1 cup walnut pieces ( or other nut)
1 cup medjool date (packed soft, about 10 to 11, pits removed)
1/2 cup cacao powder (pure, or cocoa powder)
1 pinch sea salt
2 tablespoons cacao nibs
In a time of #transition I have returned to my #journaling practice. A few years ago, regular journaling helped me unlock and release major #emotionalpatterns . It sent me on a path to learning how to directly hear the messages of my #HigherSelf . Once I got good at this I put journaling to the side. A few months ago I was given the @five_minute_journal as a gift and just put it on my shelf without much thought. Recently I have been a little cloudy about my work. Lots of confusion and frustration in me. I have spent many hours over the past two weeks feeling intuitively what wants to emerge, how my projects fit together, and how I want to focus in a joyful way. This process and great convos with great people like @chrisehardy have led me back to the key practice of daily journaling. I looked around for any spare notebook I could use, and wouldn't you know, the perfect gift was waiting for me in my own house. Also, I'm #high right now on #rawcacao beans.
Health Benefits of Cacao 🌙
Heart health 💗
Cacao benefits the heart and the entire cardiovascular system as a whole. Nearly 200 studies in the last decade show it's ability to lower cholesterol, reduce LDL ("bad cholesterol") which forms sticky plaques on artery walls, increase HDL ("good cholesterol"), lower blood pressure, improve circulation, thin blood, lessen hardening of the arteries, reduce inflammation, lower risk of heart disease and stroke, and protect after a heart attack.
Brain health 🤔
Flavanol-rich cacao increases cerebral blood flow to the brain, suggesting treatment of dementia and strokes, more mental energy, less mental fatigue, fewer "senior moments." Research has shown that the more cacao consumed, the better performance on tests of mental acuity, memory.
Cacao improves the ability of cells to control blood sugar. Clinical tests on healthy people have found that cacao does not elevate blood sugar in the same way as a caffeine containing food or beverage. In fact, researchers concluded that cacao has less distorting effect on blood sugar than nearly any other food.
Due to its vasodilating effects, cacao is particularly effective at reducing asthmatic symptoms.
Wrinkles. "Photoaging" is the scientific name for wrinkles, age spots, other skin damage from UV rays over a lifetime. High –flavanol intake, as in cacao, can double skin resistance to UV-caused damage. Who needs SPF 15! Cacao also tends to make skin softer with less scaling.
High blood pressure during pregnancy can be life-threatening to mother or baby. High flavanol intake, as in cacao, has been shown to significantly lower this risk, as much as 40 % lower in the third trimester.
Endurance. Athletes who drank cacao drinks improved their endurance up to 51% longer than those who drank other sports drinks.
Mood booster 🤗
Phenylethylamine contained in cacao prolongs the effects of chemicals in the brain that give us that feeling great feeling.

🎃CHOCOLATE ORANGE BALLS🎃
These heavenly truffles are perfect for both kids and grown up parties - simple, delicious and sure to impress all guests! ✨✨✨
To make around 10 you'll need:
- 1 cup of dates
- 1/4 raw cacao powder
- Rind of one medium orange (finely grated)🍊
- Coconut oil for your hands *
1. Soften the dates in boiling water for a few mins if they feel a little hard
2. Pop the dates, cacao powder and orange zest in a food processor and blitz for 1-2 mins
3. If the mixture is too stiff add a few drops of juice from the orange and blitz again
4. Now for little cooks to have some fun! sprinkle some cacao powder on a plate, rub coconut oil into your little cook's hands and start rolling!
5. Take about a heaped teaspoon amount and roll into a ball - then roll in the cacao powder on the plate and repeat until all of the mixture has been used up
6. Store in a fridge for up to 5 days, though we can guarantee they will not last that long!! *
At the same time it's fun for little ones to decorate oranges into spooky Halloween faces🎃
Happy Halloween cooking - we hope you've enjoyed our Halloween recipe ideas this week, and hope it's given you some inspiration for half term fun next week! *
How does someone incorporate cacao tea into their lifestyle? The traditional way is to make it just like a tea. Start with 2 teaspoons per 8 fl oz of boiling water, adjusting as needed. Strain and serve. The flavor is very earthy and dark. It can be sweetened with natural sweeteners such as raw honey, agave, monk fruit, stevia, and etc. If you are a coffee drinker the best application is to add it directly to your coffee grounds.
If you are looking for a stronger experience, we recommend using 2-4oz of cacao tea. You can add more water and make a few additional batches.
And if you want additional health benefits don’t forget to add healthy fats (grass-fed butter/ghee, coconut, mct oil). For more information visit www.kako-t.com.au
