I've been focusing 100% on rebuilding my health, especially with travel coming up again in just a few weeks... but have noticed so much guilt coming up whilst doing so. Guilt for resting so much... guilt for taking it easy... guilt for focusing on me... guilt for not being "productive" enough. Am I the only recovering workaholic out there? Guilt is one of those useless emotions that does nothing to move us forward but it's illuminating to notice where it shows up in your life.
We live in a culture that tells us we're not enough if we're not out there busting our ass. I've lost count of how many friends I've spoken to or people I've coached who have mentioned the extreme guilt they feel for taking time off, time to rest, time to do a whole lotta nothing, for even just a whole day. Why is that? Who taught you that? And since when is caring for the self not worthy enough of our time? These are questions I've been asking as I attempt to move through. And the first step to dissolving something is always shining more awareness on it.. 🌸

At @tanyasliving for a Goddess Academy Garden party hosted by the beautiful and life-changing @iammelwells 💕 This lady has seriously changed my life and continues to do so. Last year I was recommended her book, The Goddess Revolution by @chloeislocoforthecoco on Instagram. I bought it. I read it. I loved it. I then saw Mel speak at @farehealthy and EVERYTHING she said totally resonated with me and I loved that she spoke in real life, the same as she writes... you HEAR her words as you read each page. 🌸 I think absolutely every female who has ever struggled with diets or just always been on/off the wagon, should read her book. I then signed up to her 8 week academy and after spending a lot of money previously on the latest diet programs, fads and nutrition 'coaches', I can easily say Mel's Academy was worth every penny. 🙌🏼 I'm still on a journey but my mindset regarding health and diets has changed and continues to change for the better. I am learning to eat from a place of love wanting to nourish my body so she feels good and I love moving her. I used to label myself as a 'non-runner' but I actually love it and enjoy going as often as I can. 💖 @iammelwells After discussing goals and talking about how far I've come with my boss in a professional development coaching session at work, I have loaned her your book and she has now bought one for herself and to share with other women. You are a life-changer! 😍 This journey has also made me realise I want to help women in the same way and I can't wait to start that chapter of my life. .
It's so great that @yasminwilnis and I started this cleanfood journey together after the @almondblossomibiza retreat. It's not easy to be disciplined with two other children in the house and all having busy lives. To master a new skill takes time and determination and tonight we did the slicing, cutting and shredding together to create a raw vegan bowl with cauliflower rice, guacamole and zucchini salad. Day #2 of my quest for delicious plant-based grub in Berlin... the winner was @rawtasticberlin !!! After a 35 minute bike ride one way, I arrived to this all organic, vegan, gluten-free, & made with love... raw food haven. 🙏🏽
Now being from California, I have had my fair share of raw goodies... but I must say that this place had very very unique flavor combinations and overall menu creativity. I'm impressed!! 😍
I ordered a Matchamaker smoothie (avocado, dates, coconut water, matcha, & vanilla) to start off and it was super refreshing and tasty.👌🏽
Then for my main course, I succumbed to the Tasting Plate, which is basically a tapas-style meal featuring 5 of their popular dishes, chosen at random. This stole the show‼️I can't even begin to wrap my head around how the flavors combined so well. For those who claim raw vegan food is boring, THIS plate is what you need to change that lousy opinion. 😉
And lastly, after taking my sweet ass time finishing my food.. I finally ordered dessert:
👀Raw orange-basil cake👀... This pretty much tied with my main entree, it was so delectable and literally orgasmic in my mouth. Bravo 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾
All in all... this was a stupendous choice on my part **pats himself on the back**... I left this place feeling absolutely RAWtastic. That's all there is left to say. 💚✌🏽
