#tuesdaytip - buy simple ingredients in bulk and save lots of £££! 💰It's often surprisingly quick and easy to make something from scratch - for instance, instead of buying a tub of nut butter, just get a bag of plain almonds and blend them up - add a little salt and oil if you want (although it's not necessary). Same goes for nut milks - just add water, blend and strain.
The added benefit to doing it this way is that you don't have to worry about any questionable added ingredients. You're in control of what goes in your food 💪

I whizzed up a coconuty caramel cup of goodness and this was seriously delicious and nutritious!
1 large fresh banana
1 frozen peach
1 cup coconut milk
1 heaped tablespoon flaxseed
1 heaped tablespoon desiccated coconut (I get organic, because otherwise preservatives 😝)
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 tablespoon maple syrup
GO MAKE ONE 😊
Ps. I make up a recipes a lot and they often turn out gross, so when they're tasty I like to shout about them 😂

RAW DESSERTS are often much the same, I speak here from experience, as I have designed, made cakes & desserts for some of Melbourne's most well known trendy health establishments, like SoulPress, Green Street Juice, Seretonin Eatery, Particles Cinnamon Cafe, Little Sunflower Cafe, Glo Health & The Staple Store.
But this WORKSHOP is all about my crazy alchemical ideas on how to give your DESSERTS and SWEET TREATS a MEDICINAL TWIST, using the best herbal tonics & superfoods from my fav company @teelixir, as well as the art of using wild fermentation to give added medicinal benefit to your healthy sweet treats.
This concept is very experimental, I don't know of anyone else doing desserts this way. I run my workshops in a very free flowing sharing organic interactive way, to allow whatever shows up to be discussed and learned from, as well as new ideas to be seeded, and for passion to be ignited so everyone will take away what they need to began implementing what it is that will create a healthier and deeper connection to themselves, the earth, and their bodies.
This Workshop is not just about desserts, but a way to challenge you to think outside the box with food creation from a raw vegan perspective.

INGREDIENTS FOR THE BASE:
1/2 cup raw almonds
1/4 cup dates, pitted and chopped
1 Tbsp cacao nibs
1 tsp raw cashew butter
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
INGREDIENTS FOR THE FILLING:
1 cup cashews, soaked for 6h
1/2 cup pitaya purée (100grams)
2 tsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp coconut oil, melted
Pinch of salt
For decorations: add 1 Tbsp cashew butter + 1 Tbsp coconut oil
1.In a food processor, process the nuts and the chopped dates together until broken down & combined.
2.Add the cacao nibs, cashew butter, vanilla extract, and salt and process a few times until combined.
3.Line a 4" spring mold with parchment paper and press the dough evenly. Place into the freezer for 30 min until it firms up.
4.To prepare the cream filling, rinse the cashews and drain them well.
5.Blend all ingredients together (except coconut oil) in a high-speed blender until you reach a nice and smooth consistency.
6.Stream in melted coconut oil and blend until incorporated.
7.Pour the filling over the crust and freeze till set (at least 3 hours)
8.Save some of the filling in your blender. Add 1 Tbsp of coconut oil and 1 Tbsp cashew butter and blend again. Store refrigerated until ready to use.
9.Remove from freezer approx. 1h before serving.
10.Using a star tip, pipe the reserved pitaya cream on top of the cake and decorate with melted chocolate. #bestofvegan - #regrann#chasingchaser
