Do you like novellas/short stories?
I love the idea of novellas, being able to get more adventures and insight into a world, but I can never get into them the way I get into a full blown novel. There's just not enough time. I do enjoy novellas but I always struggle to get through them since I don't feel as connected, no matter how good the story itself may be. Like I really enjoyed The Bane Chronicles, Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy and The Assassin's Blade but they never hit 5 stars for me purely because of my difficulty getting into them.
It's why I'm a little hesitant to read The Language of Thorns. It has gorgeous illustrations, I love the Grishaverse and I've heard so many incredible things about it, but it is still a bind-up of stories and that always makes nervous, because its rare I ever fall in love with a bind-up.
It's the same with memoirs/books of essays. I have the same issue getting through them. The only one I've ever read that ignored that and I gave 5 stars was Unfiltered by Lily Collins earlier this year. It's not impossible but I always think I'll enjoy them less than I do because I don't really get into them properly.
Hopefully I'll get round to reading The Language of Thorns soon though because it's just too intriguing. I want to know whether the insides match the outside!
I've been in bed since yesterday, and this is what I've been up to (I should have been in bed the whole weekend but things got in the way that needed me active): I've been catching up with some ARCs that I got throughout this month. I got them via a Facebook group called MM Romance ARC Group. I joined a while ago, and at first I was pretty chill about requesting, but this month was a bit crazy and I really thought I was going to be biting off more than I could chew (I've been rushing through my readings and now I'm actually ahead of schedule, go figure). The list (just in case my handwriting is more disastrous than I anticipated) goes: -Blackbird Fly Home, by Dara Nelson. - Crystal Coast Chemistry, by Sierra Brave - Trusting Him, by Laura N. Andrews -Out, by Cara Dee.
There's a couple others in this list, which are: All in Fear: A Collection of Six Horror Tales, (Un)Masked, by Anyta Sunday and All of the Above, by Quinn Anderson. The two former I got through A Novel Approach, while the other I got through the author, that's why I didn't include them above.
Hopefully, I'll be done with all these before the end of the month. I had a list for "main" readings (books that weren't ARCs) but I won't be able to pull that one off. It went like this:
- Autoboyography, by Christina Lauren - History Is All You Left Me, by Adam Silvera
- Radio Silence, by Alice Oseman - Every Heart a Doorway, by Seanan McGuire
- They Both Die At The End, by Adam Silvera
- Five Dares, by Eli Easton.
I am failing this one majestically because I made the mistake of starting with Autoboyography, and the book is so precious that I want to take it slow (I'm currently at 52%). So, this is what my plan for the month looked like, regardless of my inability to stick to it. Do you guys make a reading plan for the month/week? How easy/hard is it for you to stick to it?
Here is what I'm #currentlyreading minus Turtles All the Way Down by #johngreen which I am listening to on audio. I'm enjoying all of them but my brain has stopped working today. So I'll work on this stack more tomorrow.
If any of you read my Radio Silence review, you'll know that I loved it, and I loved Solitaire nearly as much.
This story follows Tori, a very introverted, movie-loving girl who struggles to make friends.
In her final high school year some strange things happen: this strange, eccentric guy with multi-coloured eyes turns up at her school and befriends her; her former best friend also reappears after years of no contact; and aa mysterious organisation called Solitaire begins playing pranks on her school.
Together they delve deeper into the Solitaire pranks and try to determine who's behind the organisation.
The only reason I liked Radio Silence more is because I related more to the main character, but I still loved this book.
Solitaire by Alice Oseman: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Went to Barnes and noble today. It’s educators weekend... so you know I had to take advantage of the 25% off. I feel like this is a pretty accurate picture of my taste in reading. Now I’m not saying this is all I’ll read (because we know that’s not true) but you’ve got some historical fiction, Neil Gaiman (he needs his own genre), adult fiction, YA fantasy, and sci-fi. 😂😂. Now I just need to decide what to read first. #readerproblems#tbr#books#barnesandnoble#reader
I love to read, however I've never claimed to be a speed reader. Timed myself today, in 1 hour I comfortably read 18 pages. Don't know if that's good or bad. What it means for me is I need to read 2 1/2hours a day to keep pace. #readerproblems#toobusy#goodreads
Nothing like a great ending to a story that moved your heart, with characters you will never forget. Loved this duology sooo much 📚☕️
~ QOTD: which characters have left a mark in you? 📖
The lovely @maddisonwonderland tagged me in the #aliceinwonderland tag... btw Maddi, you have to finish CK now.
☕️ Alice (a book you lost): none. I'd rather lose a finger before one of my precious books.
☕️ White Rabbit (a book you haven't found time for): Brisingr.
☕️ Mad Hatter (a book that drove you crazy in a good way) Morning Star.
☕️ Dormouse (a book that put you to sleep) An Abundance of Katherines.

☕️ Knave of Hearts (a book that gave you a hangover): Into the Water.

i just remembered that i still have some homeworks from you guys that haven't been done😂 so im gonna start with #readerproblems tag from @stories_change (tysm for tagging me😘💕)
✨if you are halfway through a book and not loving it, do you quit or commit??
commit usually bc i need to know how it ends eventough im not really into it. well it might take forever but i'll always try to finish it
✨it is near the end of the year and you're behind on your reading goal, how do you catch up??
i don't have reading goal tbh. bc reading is something that i love to do so i never thought about it as a task that needs to be done forcefully
✨how do you cope when the covers of a series don't match??
nooo i can not😂 i need to match them and it's so hard sometimes especially those old series that i left behind and already have some new coversㅠㅡㅠ
✨what do you tell people where they want to borrow a book from you??
"please take care of my book as your child"
✨of all the new releases you want to read, how many do you actually buy??
if it's a book that i've been waiting for, like a part of series that i love, i might buy it immediately but if it's not then probably months later. but there's an exception for book with pretty cover😭 ugh you satan!!
✨after buying books, how long does it take you to actually read them??
probably a while😂 bc looking at tbr pile is life
what a long caption😂 i tagged some of you randomly, also you who read it all till this part😏 so feel free to do it or not
I loved this arc copy of Defy the Stars that @allenandunwin sent me, it’s a great story I definitely liked Abel the most ☺️
@readbysuzanne tagged me in the #readerproblems tag so here we go 🙂:
🌼You have 2000 books in your tbr how do you decide what to read next? What ever I have been waiting on the longest to read.
🌼You’re half way through a book and you are not enjoying it what do you do? I usually stop reading I really don’t like to force myself to read 🌼The end of the year is coming and you’re so far yet so close to your reading goal. Do you catch up and why? I read at all different paces like it can take me a few hours to read a book or I will finish it in a week so I will keep going how I am and see what happens
🌼Covers of a series don’t match, how do you cope? A little piece of my soul dies
🌼There is a book you despise but everyone else loves it. What do you do? I despise the Divergent series
🌼You’re reading a book in public and are about to cry what do you do? I have never cried while reading so I’m not worried
I am now four books behind review-wise. I finished The Boy in the Black Suit (it was pretty good, but not the type of book that I would read normally. The writing style was very different from what I’m used to) AND The Book of Mirrors.
The Book of Mirrors was awesome. It was super short yet there were a million plot twists and besides some character confusion I didn’t have that many problems with it!
One day I will get my life together. Today is just not that day…

Grumpy Monday folks 😡 You know how I deeply loathe weekdays right? Except Friday 😂 So I'll give you Lady Camille Belcourt, one of my favorite villains, hoping to see more of her in The Last Hours 😍 So like Camille get a coffee or whatever drink you like and slay this dreadful Monday 💪
Tagged by sweet Joy @joyfulreader for the #readerproblems challenge and I need to answer this because of how much I can relate to this topics 😂 So without further Ado let's do this challenge 😉
📖 How do you decide what to read next? Actually I always stick to my TBR pile list, because it will be a mess if I didn't 😂
📖 If you're halfway through a book and not loving it, do you quit or commit? Commit, I've never DNF a book except if it's classics 😅
📖 It's near the end of the year and you're behind your reading goal, how do you catch up? TBH I don't have a number of books to be read in year, as long as I finish every books I've bought this year 😂
📖 How do you cope when the covers of the series don't match? I CAN'T, do I need to stress this out?! It's considered blasphemous 😱
📖 A sequel of a book you enjoyed is coming out, but you don't remember much of the prequel. Do you reread? Actually it's what I've been doing right now, rereading The Assassin's Blade so I can continue up to Tower of Dawn 😍
📖 How do you tell people when they want to lend a book to from you? Actually it's a lot of consideration for me to choose such as, is this person gonna make sure to take care of my book? Is s/he will really read this book? But honestly I don't lend my books 😅
📖 Of all the new releases you want to read, how many do you actually buy? I always read them in an ebook format and will judge, and if I like it I'll buy a physical copy of it, but sequel of the books I've read are an automatic buy for me 😂
📖 After buying these books, how long does it take you to read them? I'm a fast reader, but lately I'm so busy I can only finish one book a week, and I'M NOT OKAY WITH THAT 😭
Tagging some awesome bookstagrammers 🤓 You know the drill folks, tagged or not feel free to do this challenge 😉
“I am what I am, an’ I’m not ashamed. ‘Never be ashamed,’ my ol’ dad used ter say, ‘there’s some who’ll hold it against you, but they’re not worth botherin’ with.’ An’ he was right.” — Rubeus Hagrid, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Hello book lovers! Hope that all of you are doing well.
It been a while since I did a book tag so why not do it now!! I was tagged by @annathehighlady to do the #readerproblems tag!!
♡ You have 2000 books in your TBR, how do you decide what to read next? Okay!! I always find it a little hard to find a book to read next but it all depends on how I felt about the previous read or it depends on what kind of genre I'm in the mood for.
♡ You're halfway through a book and are not enjoying it, what do you do? I'll still continue reading it but it will take a while to finish it so when that happen I'll just pick up another book with a different genre to have a little break from the boring book.
♡The end of the year is coming and you're so far, yet so close, to your reading goal. Do you catch up and why? Nah because I love reading in a slow phase i don't like rushing through books because what's the point of it. We read for pleasure and relaxing our minds not for achieving the reading goal or competing who read the must.
♡Covers of a series don't match, how do you cope? I hate it when that happens like why!! But still I can't do anything but when I order online I always make sure from which publisher or which edition it will be
♡There's a book that you despise, but everyone else loves it. What do you do? I won't do anything because we all have different minds and feelings and such. I have my own thoughts but that doesn't mean I wont respect everyone else's thoughts. We all have different ways in connecting with a book.
♡You're reading a book in public and are about to cry, what do you do?? I'll just cry !! Why not 😅 I'm a human being, aren't I?😁
Sorry I haven't been able 2 post lately guys.... It's just that I've been very busy lately... How busy? Un-even-able 2 read busy. I just started college n all this lab assignments r crazy n I my own personal problem also driving me nuts... Hope u get better soon my friend... But some good news I'll b posting regularly starting next week n I'll expand the account to not only about books but also about animals or pet n music with new theming in this account... Btw Just found out what tmov stands for n I am shocked but still using this as my brand I take it n make it mine .
Kiitos @ireadlikephoeberuns #readerproblems tagista 😊 (vastaukset on suomeksi vaikka kysymykset enkuksi 😂)
📚How do you decide what to read next? Luen mielialan mukaan ja yleensä pyrin lukemaan kirjastosta lainatut kirjat nopeasti.
📚If you're halfway through a book and not loving it, do you quit or commit? Luovutan vain, jos kirja on todella surkea.
📚It's near the end of the year and you're behind on your Goodreads challenge, how do you catch up? En välitä vaikka olisin jäljessä. 😅 📚How do you cope when the covers of the series you love don't match? Valitan yleensä äidille tai kaverille, auttaa se vähän 😂 📚Everyone loves a book you hate, who do you bond with over shared feelings? En oikeastaan kenenkään kanssa...
📚A sequel of a book you loved comes out but you've forgotten the prior novel - do you reread, skip the sequel, read the synopsis or cry in frustration? Selailen edellisen kirjan läpi.
📚How do you politely tell people you don't want to lend a book? Kukaan ei koskaan halua lainata mun kirjoja, joten ei oo tätä ongelmaa
📚Of the new releases you are dying to read, how many do you actually buy? Ostan harvoin uusia kirjoja (opiskelijabudjetin takia), lainaan uutuudet yleensä kirjastosta. 📚After buying these books, how long until you actually read them? Jos ostan aivan uuden kirjan, luen sen yleensä parin viikon sisällä. 🍁Tää oli muuten mun ensimmäinen tagi jonka tein 😉
