🌙 "There is darkness inside all of us, though mine is more dangerous than most. Still, we all have it—that part of our soul that is irreparably damaged by the very trials and tribulations of life. We are what we are because of it, or perhaps in spite of it. Some use it as a shield to hide behind, others as an excuse to do unconscionable things. But, truly, the darkness is simply a piece of the whole, neither good nor evil unless you make it so. It took a witch, a war, and a voodoo queen to teach me that." -- Jenna Maclaine, 'Bound By Sin' // 🌧💙 Love, like rain, can nourish from above - drenching couples with a soaking joy as they stand together, embracing amidst the downpour... Sometimes this rain is warm and welcome, at other times it is torrential and fierce pulling us apart, leaving us barren and partner-less. When we stand alone under the burning sun we see life for what it is - too lonely, too bright, too harsh... and sometimes under the angry heat of life, love dries on the surface and must nourish from below, tending to its roots keeping itself alive. This is when we remember the loving rain that drenched the soil of our lives and allowed for this healing. Save rain, brave heat and love fiercely while you can.
Harry unwrapped his Chocolate Frog and picked up the card. It showed a man's face. He wore half-moon glasses, had a long crooked nose and flowing silver hair, beard and moustache. Underneath the picture was the name Albus Dumbledore.
'So this is Dumbledore!' said Harry.
'Don't tell me you'd never heard of Dumbledore!' said Ron. 'Can I have a frog? I might get Agrippa - thanks -'
Harry turned over his card and read:
'Albus Dumbledore, currently Headmaster of Hogwarts. Considered by many the greatest wizard of modern times, Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, for the discovery of the twelve uses of dragon's blood and his work on alchemy with his partner, Nicolas Flamel. Professor Dumbledore enjoys chamber music and tenpin bowling.'
#welcometohogwarts Albus Dumbledore
Day 19 of #Potter20 is Hogwarts is Home: Which home would you like in the Wizarding World? Hagrid's Cabin, The Burrow or Malfoy Manor? I would love to live at The Burrow with the Weasley's, I adore their family and it would be such an adorable and homely place to live ❤
One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5
I loved this book but in saying that it wasn't really what I was expecting. It's advertised as having these four unreliable narrators and without trying to spoil things I think you'll be disappointed if you go into it expecting that, I think it would be better to go in expecting dishonest narrators which realistically makes them extremely human. I also think if this is the sort of genre you are used to you might find elements of it quite predictable but it definitely does have its twists and turns. Overall, I think the premise of this book is amazing and it was a really enjoyable read 💜 (also this is an arc I got from work, so this isn't the actual cover)
