We were blown away by these stunning maple slabs used to make this table; we have never had slabs of maple like this! This wood was salvaged from woods where we live in Muskoka and created for a client in New Brunswick!
Joinery detail for the front leg. Right piece attaches to the table top in a sliding dovetail. This is then fully hidden inside the front leg using a stepped tenon. The stretcher goes through the center of both, and everything is drawbored nice and tight. Oh, and its on an angle... #complex#woodworking#wip
This was made using wood we recovered from a barn along the river at Fraziers Bottom where the deed to the home was written before West Virginia was a state. It also has some wood from a small barn on Red House Hill, another piece from the old Strickland Farms property in Putnam County and a couple of pieces we purchased from our local Habitat for Humanity. Every piece we make is one of a kind and each has its own story.
Just a little late night work in progress shot. Probably won’t have my new display finished before tomorrow morning but, this will be at @rusticjourneys soon enough. I’m a huge fan of color mixed with steel...if you couldn’t tell!
Being able to style our rugs and home decor in someone’s home to bring life to them and give them context is a dream and I could not be more ecstatic to have worked with @natasha_habermann on a little holiday shoot! Our stockings designed by us and made by @swagandtassel (featuring antique 19th century Karabagh rug fragment) are very limited edition + stock — DM for details, rug in the photo is for sale (DM for details), antique Westchester maps are going to hit the site soon, and others like the basket and vases on the mantel are in stock and ready to ship. Sooo ready for the holidays and all the cozy! #oldnewhouse#rugs#vintagerugs#antiques#katonah#westchestercounty#interiorinspo#interiors#dsnicerug
