Looks like I may not be keeping the #TitanV but instead going for two #TitanXP since V isn’t supported by #redshift3d yet and 1080ti’s actually cost $350 more than the Titan XP Collectors edition.
Speed tests are pretty straight forward and scales how you expect. You can almost apply this to anything as long as you have the same specs and at least one render. And if Redshift isn’t utilizing any of the other features on the card but CUDA then I can expect the TitanV performance to be pretty linear and identical to running 1x 1080 and 1x 1070 for 6018 #CUDA . The Ai denoise isn’t coming till at least summer I’ve read which is too long for the project I currently have.
Finally got everything up and running smoothly (cover is off to make sure everything was testing ok) - see below for initial test, I wanted to make sure I got the right power distribution units up n running to not trip the power - the server AC is amazing with so much control and blows so cold and quiet - the unit stayed at 24c during initial test renders and gotta tell you the first node is super fast, 120mb transfer speed over the network and my main machine doesn’t have 10G only the @asus switch and the render node so I’ll try to get that updated soon. I dropped a test render in 8k since I’m rendering 2 eyes for VR - 5mil poly facility - Redshift brute - no optimization on purpose - with just one 1070ti render took 40min - with (2x 1070 ti and 2x 1080 ti ) render took 2min 43 second lol .. I’m going to test the Titan V and some combinations to check for bottlenecking, if I have time I’ll put together some stats. I have all the components in for the second node except the GPUs and the tests will decide which cards will fill that node
During the final refine stages I’ll use the single 1070ti for optimizing the scene which will guarantee a much faster 6k final from the node
