According to the World Bank, the average wedding produces approximately 400-600lbs of waste😯! VHP’s mission is to reduce the amount of florals deposited into landfills by #repurposing them and donating them to community members to brighten up their day. Once the florals have been twice loved, we #compost them ensuring that they are disposed in an #ecofriendly way! 💜 #WorldStatisticsDay
Zaidy was ahead of his time and big into recycling. Not so much for the environmental, he just didn’t like wasting things. What once held @skippybrand peanut butter in 1979 now holds screws. #repurposing
#repurposing#oldclothes#oldclothesnewlife into washcloths n bum-rags ...a bit hard to admit but we’ve been using these instead of tp for a couple of years now. So much nicer on the tooshy than the o’ paper products!

when we call upon medicine
to commune in sacred circle,
be it animal, plant or mineral,
we are opening our field
to richly saturated & exquisitely articulated
the medicine always has its own frequency &
it shows up in its own way, maybe
a bit like a new constellation
popping up in the starry sky bowl
of our deepest imaginings, pulsing
with deliberate tone &
bringing to relief possibility
within our core
to the extent that we so choose
to the extent that we allow,
in grateful communion,
we invite an update/shift/download/recalibration
to a new probabilistic reality
in the act of deliberate communion
with fair terra & her consciousness
all this in the now moment
of a single breath
oh Hurrah for the #nanosecond

There is a lot to do in this house... We essentially have a whole floor in our home which we don't use much. Sounds grand, but it's our two attic rooms, not a ballroom! One is The Bump's Room (for stuff and hanging out until it's ready to sleep alone), which is pictured here, the other is Everything Else Room (desk, vinyl records, books, robots). They each have very high ceilings, a window looking out across the valley and an area under the beam which is crying out for built-in storage. Both are covered in Artex, paintable wallpaper and a bit of woodchip.
We didn't have the money or time to do these rooms up so we just painted The Bump's Room yellow and today I hung some Calico fabric to hide the stuff under the beam, then pinned up some bunting which @annalina_79 made for our wedding. I think it looks a bit better, at least. #smallvictories#expecting#37weekspregnant#Otley#homerenovation#repurposing

Having a break from arty sewing to do some dressmaking. Ages ago I bought a beautiful dark red silk man's shirt from a charity shop because I loved the colour of the fabric and at last have got around to using it to make this top. I kept the buttons down the back as decoration.
Re-purposing is necessary for the soul! I have a tonnnn of brand new never used onesies. They haunt me from the storage bin in my son's closet!

P.S: is it just me or does the blue and purple one look kinda mermaidyyy 🐳🐳🐳 How to tie-dye Mess free 👌🏻:
Wet the garment first. Put alittle dye in a cup- add about a half cup of water. Leave the cups in your sink (this is the mess free part) Tie up your garment into sections with rubber bands, dip the sections in the cup. Orrrr lay out your garment on a trash bag, using a paint brush, brush the areas with the desired color. Put garments outside to dry. Heat set using dryer or iron and wash with towels for final product!
