One of the most important nutrients in our skin is called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in humans and animals in our connective tissues. It holds 1,000 times its weight in water, playing an important role in skin hydration. It is known to protect, lubricate, and cushion the skin to provide hydration and plumpness. As our collagen decreases with age, so does our hyaluronic acid. Diet, smoking, and other internal and external factors can quicken the decline of hyaluronic acid so it is important that we are delivering this back into our skin as we age. Hyaluronic acid products are famous for their ability to “reverse” or counteract aging. It has been called the “key to the fountain of youth”. #skincare#intraceuticals#hydrate the skin before you moisturize! #hyaluronic#oxygenfacial#peptides#dehydrated#lowmolecularweight#serum#victoriassecret#redcarpet#retouched#antiaging#skincare
I’ve been a little MIA since Christmas so for all the #galaxygirl2018 contestants - still know I’m watching your appearances and rooting for you in March! ✨🎀
————————————————————————- In October I moved half way across the world (something I said I had planned to do in my winning interview) with a pocket full of dreams and a bucket load of “but what do I do if I fail?”. My plan A didn’t go as expected, and then the fool proof plan B fell by the wayside - so I’ve been busy working on plan C (still trying to figure out what plan C is - moving to the USA is probably the hardest thing I’ve done to date). ———————————————————————-
Going into beauty pageants I always knew I was atypical and I was proud of that.
To an extent my appearance doesn’t matter that much to me, but after having a cancer scare in 2017 my health and my time on this earth certainly does.
95% of the time I don’t have beautiful hair and makeup, but I’m not afraid to show that because I don’t want to contribute to unrealistic expectations of beauty.
My gowns with 8ft trains were proudly sponsored by years of managing work, running my own business and studying. And I’m proud of that too!
But as a title holder what I will never be is fake. I don’t want the contestants this year (or girls in general) to look as me as if I’m living a life that is unachievable or a product of luck.
My job as Miss Galaxy Australia is to inspire, not to promote a contrived, unachievable life. If I were to keep posting the glamorous milliseconds of my life right now pretending that it is my reality that is exactly what I would be doing, and that is against my morals. So instead I choose to keep it real - even as title holders or beauty queen sometimes life throws curve balls you have to woman up and deal with the best you can.
So with that I’ll say - just do the best you can with what you’ve got - Successful people aren’t people who never fail, they are people who fail a million, gazillion times before they find success. No one should live in fear of being unapologetically themselves.
