If you're feeling a little more overwhelmed than festive this holiday season, MindBody Green and Dr. Vasant Lad have a few tips from Ayurveda to prevent anxiety and stress:
1. Relaxing bath with ginger and baking soda
Use 1/4 cup ginger and 1/3 cup baking soda in a tubful of water.
Soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
2. Almond milk
Soak 10 almonds overnight in water. Peel off the skins and blend with 1 cup water or warm milk.
Warm milk is traditional variation recommended by Dr. Lad but if you are avoiding dairy, use warm water.
Add a pinch of nutmeg, ginger and saffron.
3. Orange juice
For anxiety accompanied by a fast heart rate, a cup of orange juice with 1 teaspoon honey and a pinch of nutmeg can be effective.
