I did a ride along with Andrew Gnatovich for @rollingstone. Andrew aka @LVCabbieChronicles is the twitter-famous Las Vegas taxi driver who helped alert the town to the shooting on Oct. 1. He spoke with Jennifer Swann about the night of the shooting and “the relative ease with which the city has sprung back to life“. Story in bio.
18th Oct 2005, An image of a naked John Lennon taken on the last day of his life, was named the top US magazine cover of the past 40 years. The Rolling Stone front cover, taken by Annie Leibovitz and showing Lennon curled around Yoko Ono, was picked by editors, artists and designers. [Text courtesy This Day in Music]
New RollingStone came today! And I’m really disappointed actually no I’m more than that I’m furious. I have this exact magazine it came out in 2015. They obviously tried to play it safe by slapping “reissue” on the cover. @rollingstone It’s saddens me you couldn’t have done more for him. Instead of honoring a legend like Tom Petty you slapped a new cover on a previous magazine added two pages and rushed it to news stands to make a buck on the millions mourning his death. SHAME ON YOU! #tompetty#riptompetty#tompettyandtheheartbreakers#rollingstone
hi I'm posting a lil bit more tonight.
Lana's 2014 Rolling Stone Cover
Seeing this in stores was surreal because I had loved her for like 3 years and she was getting me through depression (I sound like such a white gay™ SORRY) and this just really showed how far she'd come and I was super proud.
Happy Birthday rock music photographer Deborah Feingold! 2014 VIDEO INTERVIEW
DEBORAH FEINGOLD podcast excerpt: "Musician Magazine was exciting. At that time in the 1970s, we had Creem, Circus, Rolling Stone, downBeat. But I didn't know anybody else who was shooting for all of them, plus New Age and World Beat. So I had the best job on the planet. I wasn't following one group of people, hanging out and going to the clubs. I was all over the place! Plus, the weirder my stuff was, the more support I got in shooting my vision.” https://mrmedia.com/2014/10/prince-music-photography-deborah-feingold-video/

Evangeline buys the first issue of "Rolling Stone" magazine in 1967. Fresh off the presses, she eagerly flips through the pages. She reads about her favorite bands, fashion and songs, but notices more to the magazine--a serious look at the burgeoning rock scene, investigative reporting, and opinion pieces on the topics of the day. On page two Evangeline reads publisher Jan Wenner's letter to his new readers. "You're probably wondering what we are trying to do. It's hard to say: sort of a magazine and sort of a newspaper. The trade papers have become so inaccurate and irrelevant, and the fan magazines are an anachronism. Rolling Stone is not just about music, but also about the things and attitudes that the music embraces. We've been working quite hard on it and we hope you can dig it..." http://ow.ly/JDhQ30fX8by #classicrock#60smusic#gogoevangeline#rockstar#rollingstone#magazine
