🏃🏻♀️RUNNING is a mental game... You prep your mind before the race. You ensure your gear are in place (laces neatly pulled and tucked, wireless headphones charged and carefully chosen motivational soundtracks). You give yourself the time and space to complete your run. Mid way through, there are temptations to give up... but you tell yourself, YOU CAN DO IT!! Running motivation is cultivated. #runningchallenge#motivation#mentalpower#fitnessmotivation#naturalglow#noneedforfilter
today i was only scheduled to run 20 (my last super long run until my race, ahh!!) but the loop i ran worked out to be over and i didn't sweat it.
i started at 6 am and my friend laura ran with me until the sun rose which im so so so grateful for. i didnt want to go alone and not many people would willingly get up at 6 am to run the first 7 with me!!! her watch said 7.7 and mine said 7... so i think theres something funky with my watch, but thats nothing new.
the rest of the run went super well!! the Gu's i tried today were chocolate (better than expected and had a cocoa taste), campfire smores (this one was actually super good.. highly recommend trying it!) and salted watermelon (was pretty good but i warmed it up a little too long in my hand) i was debating about trying caramel machiatto today but just was not feeling that. i think im still more of a fan of the fruity flavors instead of the indulgent ones.
i felt really good up until my last loop (each loop was about 3.5 miles) just because the sun was really started to get to me. i thought about all the peeps running the akron marathon today though and pushed through! also, my right calf was not having it today, idk why! it got tired very quick out of no where.
today was also a noon football game so i got to watch it get progressively more busy on campus and run past a bunch of tailgates which was fun. the officers directing traffic practically knew me by lap 6 and called me crazy and cheered me on! haha it was very funny. they aren't wrong i guess..💁🏽
once again, today just proved to me that i can really do whatever i set my mind too. i felt so good mentally as well and the run just flew by! im so ready for this marathon and taper to begin :)
(also, im loving the way the leaves look in the pic. i took it after my run, wishing it would be fall already...)
