It has been 7 days & 7 hours since I started my #100miler , making it now 6 days since I have ran, and I already miss it so much!
🏔I am still out with a really sore knee, was definitely hoping to go for a run tomorrow but it's not happening for sure! 😩everyone said that after a #100miles I won't want to run for weeks, but it's not at all how I felt, I wanted to #run probably 2 days after.. I just miss being outside in the #mountains for that chunk of time in the morning.. without #running or even being able to walk/bike or move out there I don't feel right, I don't know what to do with myself in the mornings!
☀️On the bright side it is allowing me more time to spend doing things I have been putting off due to nice weather and running, like getting our cookbook published on Amazon! That is a work in progress but hope it will be up there soon!
There is always a bright side of everything and I am focusing on that right now, even though the #mountainsarecalling me hard right now!!!
If there was one takeaway from my #runningdreamtrip that I am using to fuel my mind for the #mointainlakes100 miler we have in 3 days is to soak in the beauty of the place you are in.
🏔To truly connect with that spot I am #running through, often when we #run we don't stop to smell the trees, flowers, appreciate the amazing mess that nature has provided.
😳100 miles is a long way, the furthest I have ran is 50 miles so mental preparation is everything. Gwen is prepping me for what might come, what the difficult times may be like and asking me questions about how I am going to deal with them, overcome them and continue to run when the pain seems unbearable.
❤️funny that this is the thing I love most, kinda sounds horrible doesn't it? But we love it actually. We see it as a microcosm of life and as an opportunity to practice how to handle hard times and thrive!
OATMEAL.. has been the center of our #breakfast for quite some time now, at home or as pictured here in the backcountry of #norway during the #runningdreamtrip - we pack in the #wholegrains#nutsandseeds & of course #berries !
We don't often get too "sciency" on you guys because frankly we are not the best at wording it elegantly unlike our friends Jackson & Aaron from @tfflifestyle who are the kings 👑 of #nutrition and #science stuffs so here it is straight from them!
We’re convinced that oatmeal is the healthiest breakfast for the budget-conscious, time scrapped, and health-focused person. A recent report by the World Cancer Fund and American Institute for Cancer Research found that every 3 servings of whole grains per day decreases one’s risk for colorectal cancer by 17% (source: http://bit.ly/2xcdwqD). Whole grains (like old fashioned oats) are high in fiber and promote the production of butyrate by our gut bacteria, a short-chain fatty acid that suppresses the inflammatory immune response in the colon (source: http://bit.ly/2xam7fT). Today is my last day here in #norway so I wanted to list some neat things I've seen:
*sheep on high mountains
*fjords so blue they look tropical
*mountains coming straight out of the fjords
*glacier lakes and streams
*"huts" which are like little-medium sized hostels in middle of the mountains!
*the most technical trails I have ran on in a long time
Today is overcast much like the day I arrived, it is allowing for some time for reflection of the experiences over the last 10 days...what a #dreamcometrue thanks to @salomonrunning this is truly a #runningdreamtrip 😀

🌸Some say I am lucky, others call it random chance, but I believe it is simply the way the world works..
Positivity, passion & persistence over many many days, months & years... all focused at my dream of running with the best at my best in the best conditions....
Mental training, Meditation, practice, call if what you want but we have a very particular way of calling the events of our life into existence and it is NOT luck, nor is it random, I can promise you that.

👍What brought this group together was our love for #running in the mountains & #healthyfood so it has been a blast to spend the last week together!
While on the sailboat traveling, we did not take tons of time to plan meals so breakfast for me was bananas, Apple, muesli, cinnamon and soymilk which was really dang good actually!
(i actually traveled here with my own pre-packed bag of oats just incase I needed them, which I usually do) so give that a try next time you travel because oats and dried fruit & nut mixes are really tasty on the airplane, even with a little orange juice or just water from the flight attendants it makes a good travel Meal that will nourish and sustain!
