CORE STRENGTH- a very simple and effective way to strengthen those core muscles by doing this breathing exercise! Since a strong core leads to good posture, this also translates in to improved technique & performance! Many people think of their core as simply the outer abdominal muscles, (Rectus Abdominus) and forget all the other muscle groups like their Tranverse Abdominus (your TVA, the deeper inside layers of abdominal muscle beneath).
So this exercise works to develop your TVA, which are crucial to strong posture!
- Lie on your back and slowly breathe in for the count of 5 filling your diaphragm and lungs all the way down in to you tummy
- Your back may lift slightly off the ground once your full of air, hold for 2/3 counts - Breath out slowly for 5 counts and begin to squeeze your pelvic floor and lower abdominal muscles tight
- Squeeze and hold them for 5- 10 counts (breathing lightly) your back should completely flatten against the floor
- Repeat this for 5-10 minutes!
Simple & Easy to do this any time - for example while you’re watching Tv! It doesn’t look like you’re doing much but it makes a HUGE difference! These are some of the most important muscles for keeping you up right and strong through your midriff!! -

Leute, es ist sooo schön wieder laufen zu können!!! 🙊♥️ Nach fast 7 Wochen ohne Sport (nach meiner OP) macht selbst schlechtes Wetter nichts aus😁💪🏻 Ich war 30 Min. unterwegs, lockeres Tempo und habe mich unglaublich frei gefühlt! This transformation is by far my favorite!!! Half Marathoner ➡️ Marathoner
Besides two 5ks, I have only ran one half Marathon and finally became a Marathoner.
This photo perfectly describes my Running accomplishment.
LEFT-PreBaby: November 2015 was my debut as a runner. I wanted to do something I had never done before with running and I decided to sign up and run a half Marathon. With little training as I used the Nike Running App, I figured I could milk it as best as I could. I was not disciplined nor did I know what a good finishing time was or pace. My running gear was lame and I ended up wearing brand new shoes I bought at the running store the night I picked up my packet....haha WOW Danielle! First time runner, right? My half marathon was one I will never forget as I was super proud I accomplished the distance but also later on telling myself “what was I thinking”; meaning I started out way too fast and didn’t eat or hydrate properly. But hey I still surprisingly won First place for my age division. 
RIGHT-PostBaby: November 2017 was my marathon debut! To this day was my proudest moment as a runner and I am still all smiles! With just one half marathon under my belt two years ago and running pregnant (2016) I was ready to Go Big or Go Home. I knew my Postpartum Fitness had reached its prime and I was ready to start training for 26.2. This go around I researched a training plan for me, educated myself with everything running, and took care of my body as best as I could. Knowing what I had ran a half marathon at, my only goal was to finish strong with a sub 4! Instead I surprised myself with a first place age division and a BQ! Say what?! Becoming a Marathoner feels AWESOME!

If you work hard, believe in yourself, and discipline your training, you might surprise yourself on how strong you truly are. I didn’t have to run tons of races to get to where I wanted to be but always have been one to go for the Grand Prize. Now this is just ME but seriously don’t be afraid to reach a goal outside your comfort zone. Strong Minded does the body good! I know I have LOTS of room for improvement and more PRs. Whatever it takes just know YOU GOT THIS🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Aprovecho para contaros que ya llevo 6 sesiones de tratamiento capilar en el Centro Saniger de Barcelona. .
Hace algo más de un mes os comenté que iba a iniciar un tratamiento para fortalecer y sanear el cuero cabelludo y de esta manera conseguir un pelo más sano y nutrido💆🏼, porque con tanto cloro, duchas y demás lo tenía muy castigado. .
Y bueno, los resultados hablan por sí solos💁🏼! Estoy muy contenta y eso que aún me quedan muchas sesiones!😋

Y por cierto, mañana voy a mi séptima sesión y aprovecharé para contaros por stories algo que os gustará mucho a todos!!!😋👏🏼👏🏼💆🏼💆🏻‍♂️!!

Five miles of running and hot yoga at @highlandyoga makes for a perfect day in Grant Park. During my runs or bike rides to yoga I see the “Save the Trees of Grant Park” signs and can’t help but worry that 2018 will bring those 100+ year old trees down. My Christmas wish is obvious: to Save the Trees of Grant Park. In the meantime I’ve been making sure to spend a few extra moments enjoying the shade the trees provide on my runs and walks around the park. Give thanks for the world around you, because you never know when they may disappear forever! .
Heading off to Denver tomorrow evening. Ready to get the week started and then wrapped up for some family fun in NYC! Cheers and happy Tuesday, friends! 🎁 🎅🏽 ✨ 🌳 .

On September 12, 2017 I was cleared from my doctor to start running at exactly 6 weeks post PRP injection into my left hamstring attachment. I ran one mile on the treadmill, and it didn’t feel like I had made much progress.

The six weeks following my injection were really hard. It was August, and everyone was hitting peak mileage in their marathon training. I was sitting on the couch-not allowed to even take my dog for a walk. To say I was sad was an understatement. I slowly started back up with upper body and core strength training about a week post injection but wasn’t allowed to swim or elliptical until 4 weeks post injection.

I chose a PRP injection to give me the best possible chance at running Boston. I had already been rehabbing for 11 months and I was ready for the next step. I’ve always had faith I would heal, I was hoping this would be the boost of healing my body needed.

I’ve been continuing an eccentric strength program and soft tissue/Graston for the past 13 weeks. 🎉Last Saturday I ran 12 miles in the wind and snow. 🎉 (I included pace to be consistent with my September pic-but when you’re returning from injury-that’s really not important.) While my hamstring is not 100% healed, it is better and I am stronger than I was before. I’m so thankful to be able to run again. At times I’ve felt my comeback was possibly the slowest one on Earth-and if you’ve been following me for at least a year-you know what I’m talking about! With each run, I’m becoming more and more confident that I will run Boston. And not only that, but it just might go well. 😊

{Foam Rolling} Real talk, y'all.

8 years ago I had knee surgery. And oh how I wish I hadn't. The doc removed scar tissue from my knee after telling me the the scar tissue was caused by working out too much which in turn was causing all my pain.

Except the pain didn't go away. I discovered soon after that the only thing that relieved my pain was foam rolling.

Well guess what? The pain has started again. My legs are so tight after working out that it has hindered my ability to run as much as I want to (or run at all), do lunges and do squats. Basically, I’ve lost all flexibility! .
So I decided to change that today! And I was reminded how much it makes a difference.

So... if you are a runner or a worker-outer, my question for you is, do you foam roll? If you don't, go google it and I promise there is proven science that it will make all the difference. Seriously though, do it!
