If you're in a pinch, a stick makes a pretty decent bookmark.
15k— talking books with you all has brought me so much joy, and I'm blown away by your support. Thank you for being here.
I'm continuing on with Vladimir Nabokov's Pnin today, and had to post it for this quote: "Man exists only insofar as he is separated from his surroundings. The cranium is a space-traveler's helmet. Stay inside or you perish." It brought me back to those thoughts so many of us have shared lately about literature's ability to bridge that gap, running lines between our space helmets so to speak. What are you reading today? And if you've read Nabokov, which of his books do you recommend? I've read Lolita as well, and am hungry for more of his writing!
"Do more things that make you forget to check you phone."
...she types into her phone. The irony is not lost on me, don't worry. However, one of the things that's blown me away about bookstagram is how, over the past year, despite the time I spend here I'm actually reading more than ever. You all have made me more conscious of reading as an active decision, and I've found myself deliberately making time to read, when it'd slip through the cracks before. Never thought IG would make me more well read. I'm just about finished Nabokov's Pnin, and hopped on the bandwagon this morning with Call Me By Your Name. Have any of you read it? What did you think?
I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here! My favorite thing about this time of year. I would share how I decorated my Christmas tree this year! I carried the rustic style into our Christmas Tree. Warm and cozy and I just want to lay on the couch with the family. Home, my favorite place for Christmastime.🎄
