I love my wife @skyehasten for countless reasons, but this is definitely up there near the top. I have been doing #Keto for 2 weeks and am getting amazing results. One of the hardest parts for many on Keto is how strict it is on not cheating. The key to Keto is being CREATIVE with your meals. 
This dish is a very popular dish in #iowa but as a foreigner to the Midwest I have never heard of "Chicken Lips" and was disturbed when I first heard the name of the dish. Chicken lips are chicken breasts generally battered in flour and fried then baked with wing sauce. To make this Keto friendly Skye battered them in Parmesan cheese and fried them, then used #Franks wing sauce (zero carbs) served with Bleu Cheese with 1 g carbs per 2 tbsp. 
Also if you know the origin to the name of the dish please do me a solid and fill me in!

The left picture is from May & the right one is from tonight after a successful back day. Any amount of weight that you lose is an accomplishment & you should feel damn proud of yourself. Being able to compare pictures like this makes me feel great! I'm even doing certain exercises that I could hardly get through two months ago as a warm up this month. 
Consistency is key. One of the hardest things is not beating yourself up over certain things. If you have an off day or two, get over it and keep powering through. I personally struggle with this every now and then, but I always push myself to power through!

If you are anything like me and get muscle cramps from time to time, you know how much it sucks! One minute you’re sitting there watching a Cops marathon and then boom, your calf is cramping up! It sucks! So I started taking these three things to help with it and they have been a God send! Taurine and magnesium along with your other electrolytes all work in a balance along with water within your body and if you are deficit in any of them then it can lead to muscle cramps. Taking in a little extra can help big time with it! Another overlooked thing is getting a good quality multivitamin, especially if you eat like a 5 year old like me and hate veggies! If you are deficit in any or most of your micronutrients then all kind of stuff can go wrong in your body. Granted taking in veggies is the best way to get you nutrients but tbh, I hate them so much and my multivitamin is wayyyyy easier! Try these guys out if you’re struggling with cramps! My go-to intra-workout beverage typically is a combination of amino acids, carbohydrates, and electrolytes. This blend will help fuel the body for intense training.

A full spectrum of amino acids during training will help prevent an excess of muscle breakdown and keep your body from dipping into a catabolic state (a state at which your body starts burning its own muscle as a fuel source - you don't want that!).

For the typical athlete, your body will use carbohydrates as fuel during exercise. So providing your body with that fuel during intense activity can help you power through training sessions much more effectively. Intra-workout carbohydrates will also help keep blood glucose levels stable during exercise, which in turn can help keep energy levels high and performance level optimal.

During intense training, electrolyte levels will tend to become imbalanced. This can reduce the efficiency at which your muscles fibers fire, reducing overall muscle power and performance. This is typically what causes spasms or muscle cramps as well. By keeping your muscles hydrated and flooded with electrolytes during training, you can improve your performance greatly.

Here's what I do: I am going to take a 100 percent hydrolyzed whey Phormula-1 protein shake from @1stphorm ! This is the purest form of protein and it is the fastest digesting!

Each year I amaze myself with how far I've come. Only a couple years ago, I attempted one of these obstacle courses for the first time. It was brutal, challenging and tested me on so many levels. Now, a couple years later, I finish the race hardly sore the next day! 😈 I can tell hard work, consistency, and years of training have helped me tremendously! My goal next year is to be super competitive, and finish under an hour. I think I can do it 👍🏼

Carbs, insulin, GDA. All are good things. I am type 1 diabetic and have taken insulin injections since I was 11. I do not consider myself an expert, but I have an above average understanding of carbs, and insulin response in our bodies.--
Every time we eat carbs, ALL CARBS, our bodies digest them and turn them into glucose. When glucose is released into our blood stream, our bodies make insulin. Insulin is a STORAGE hormone. It transports glucose from our blood stream, and stores it in our muscles for our body to use as fuel. BUT once our muscle is full, our bodies have to do something with that glucose so it is stored as fat. So regardless of whether or not you take a GDA, if you are taking in too much, it's going to be stored as fat.--
So why use a GDA?
1. To help keep insulin sensitivity low on high carb diets.
2. Use them on a normal meal plan for general health and to help stabilize blood sugar.
3. Post workout when your carb intake should be higher, and your glycogen should be depleted. It helps MAXIMIZE the storage of those carbs.-- There are other times and places GDA's are great, but in summary, GDA's are not a carb blocker and you can and will store fat if you eat too much. They are not a magic anti carb capsule, so still be reasonable with your food choices. I could droll on and on and on about this subject, but I'll stop here. Today, I did some cardio, core and shoulder work. This is the 2nd time I used the ab roller, and it's tough for me! I used it last week, and my upper abs were sore for 3 days. It's no joke. I'm hoping I can get lower to the ground over time. I need to tighten this core up!

#4. Water. Yes water (the colder the better) Skip the milk and stick to mixing your shake with good high quality H2O so that digestion with be as fast as possible.

I'll start with by saying that one of the most talked about and misunderstood supplements out there are none other than your BCAA supplements that "everyone" is taking. But do you really need them? -
The answer is simply... yes and no. But why? Well I'll tell you.

There are honestly only very few reasons where these amino acids are beneficial.
1. If you're in a protein deficit.
2. If you're doing any sort of fasted training.
3. If you're training for more than 3+ hours they may be beneficial.
4. If you know you're not going to get in a complete protein source for multiple hours. 
There may be a few more reasons but these are the top in my opinion.

But Reid you're drinking BCAAs in the picture?! Yes. Currently I am in a caloric deficit to make sure I'm not burning muscle for energy, and training for multiple hours plus cardio. Otherwise I would not drink them besides the fact they taste good😛

Branch Chain Amino Acids are designed to PREVENT muscle breakdown. Not BUILD muscle. Yes they do promote muscle protein synthesis which is basically the first step in building muscle. But you are not given the proper amount of essential amino acids that BUILD muscle.

All of the amino acids you need to build muscle are in your complete protein sources like chicken, turkey, steak, fish, whey protein etc.

So to achieve the state of building muscle is being anabolic which is created by consuming a complete protein source. If you take in at least 20-30 grams of a particular protein source before you workout, you do not need a BCAA supplement!

That's the problem with setting small goals though, you'll always end up short of your potential. Aim high and you'll shoot high! Also you're not deadlifting right if you're not bleeding afterwards..

I used to focus on trying to put up the biggest numbers in the gym on every one of my lifts. I used to think that by doing the heaviest weight I could possibly do that I would get bigger and stronger, however that isn't necessarily the case. 
While the weight you do for an exercise should be challenging, it shouldn't compromise your proper form of the movement. By focusing more of my form and constant muscle contraction I am able to get the most out of every rep and tear down the most amount of muscle.
