San Marzano was est. in 1962 in southern Puglia when 19 vine growers—whose families farmed the land for generations—bonded together to protect and promote their work. We have developed a balanced philosophy that deeply respects the region’s age-old traditions and inherent characteristics while recognizing the benefits of modern tools and approaches, crafting wines are authentic and elegant, deeply rooted in the terroir and heritage of the region.
We have had some really good late ripening passata tomatoes this year including San Marzanos. We usually let them finish ripening inside to reduce the risk of bugs eating holes in their thin skin. Here's a fully ripened lot going into the oven with thyme and garlic. Pretty simple but should taste delicious. On for slow roast at about 140. #sanmarzano and friends #slowroastedtomatoes#homegrown
