Looking at old pictures and thinking of the days spent sipping kombucha at @folkbyronbay with bestie @stephanie.ami in the sun 🌻 It might only be a few months since I left Byron, but being here on the other side of the world it feels like a lifetime #tb#memories#byronbay
I love tropical fruits but never eat them back in Germany because I want to choose local food that relates to the climate I am living in and they never taste the same as in their home countries. Ayurveda also states that the food growing close to you is the best! But now it is time to indulge 😋Look at the colorful variety that nature has developed, it boosts your mood just by looking at it. Also fruits are mostly #sattvic and enhance clarity. Colors play an important role in Ayurveda too, as they can be used in therapy just like herbs and foods. I used to wear a lot of grey and black clothes but try to be more concious now and wear warming colors as this benefits my ayurvedic constitution. Which color or fruit is your favorite?
Today I got to Practice with David Andrew! I love teaching yoga but I definitely love even more being a student!
We chanted for about an hour and then moved to the practice, thank you for your teachings, your attention and your patience
Here it is a mantra that we chanted that is worth sharing.
“May the rains fall on time; may the earth yield her produce in abundance; may this country be free from turmoil; and may the righteous be free from fears”
Om shanti shanti shanti 🙏🏻
Have a blessed weekend!! 💫✨

🎵🎶Mantras are a great tool to ad to your daily meditation practice. The more you say mantras, the more they will create a pathway in your mind that helps your out of sticky situations and maintain emotional control. 🎵🎶
Ser up an area to meditate. Make an alter of your own or follow a set traditional way, whatever is comfortable and allows you unwind your mind and float in spirit.
🕯Incense, candles, music, pillows, blanket, figurines, seashells, wood, elements represented if you wish, whatever is important to you, keep in this cozy, calm area. For mantras English or sanskrit will work, what's most important is your minds intentions when saying the mantra, and believing in yourself!
Peace to you as you as you find your way through 😘

Water starts small, just a gurgle, from the source. But continues to grow on the go. Sometimes steadily, sometimes in huge spurts.
Epic shit starts small. Start from scratch. Start yesterday. Grow from whatever you go through.
Water merges with whatever water comes in its path. It gives purpose to small streams and nameless brooks. It loses its identity even but never veers from its Dharma.
Initiate stuff. Team up with others of your tribe. Make a community, keep adding to it. Become a leader. Pick people from the periphery. Bring them into the mainstream. Collab with others bigger than you. For the greater purpose, lose your ego. Don't shrink. If you shrink you dry up. When you expand you throb with life.
Water never stops before rocks or cliffs. Water makes its way.
There is no roadblock. There is no obstacle. It's just the plane you look at it from. Shift your perspective. Shift your energy. Respond correctly. Keep walking.
Water does not turn back. It cannot. That'd be against nature's law.
If a path calls out to you, walk it. Don't overthink. Don't procrastinate. Trust the universe's wisdom. It is a billion years old. Be a pilgrim. Keep progressing.
Water gives. It gives life, it restores life, it cleanses, it nourishes, it nurtures.
Be a giver. Be compassionate. Be a healer. Be one with nature. When you give you get more than you can keep... In Indian consciousness we name and worship rivers as mother. Yogrishi @theanandmehrotra meditating on banks of Ma Ganga. ..

Dealing with a change of season! Since getting back I’ve been feeling a little under the weather (yep, literally). I’ve gone from lots of sunshine, high humidity and 33 degrees daily to crisp 16 degrees (and I’m not even sure I’ve seen the sun since landing in London!) So this morning I’ve made some turmeric chai porridge with lots of ginger, Manuka honey and bee pollen. With a side of masala chai, of course. According to Ayurveda we are now in vata season; Autumn. When the seasons change we naturally change our food preferences and align ourself to nature’s intelligence so that we can remain in balance. But with supermarkets stocking such a huge variety and imports from the world we can forget about this innate wisdom of our bodies. Make sure to include more vata-pacifying foods in your diet this season; such as avocado, sweet potato, red lentils and oats. Vata is cold, dry, rough and light so to balance aim for warm, moist, smooth and heavy. Or put simply - switch your granola, fruit and yoghurt for porridge, stewed fruit and seeds 😉
It is difficult as a single person cooking and eating sattvik food, to minimize wastefulness as well. My biggest challenge remains to not waste food while using little oil salt etc. So here's to a well utilized fridge. Rajma, Gujarati methi sabzi and roti with curd. #sattvic#satvik#foodporn#nowaste#indianabroad#indianfood
Patanjali has a cafe in my neighbourhood.
A not entirely unrelated observation.
Given the eco-hipsterification and A/C everything going on, what many parts of urban South India have done well, with no fuss basic eat under 150 bucks roadside places, the North could do with reviving the Bhojnalaya/#Halwai breakfast places in a metro/#NCR zone like Delhi. Non oily basic fare, close to home food, but clean environment, which professionals can use to stop by for breakfast on way to/back work. #Sattvic fare too, without going all organic cafeofy about it. My friend Rajesh Ojha partnered in reviving the basic gazeboish restaurant in Cafe Roots, Gurgaon and somewhat Cafe Lota in Delhi too. Somewhere me thinks, it is about recognizing what people are missing in their hearts and visibl-izing that as an option.
